WELL HERE GOES>>>>

Post by InvisibleMan » Sat Sep 25, 2004 5:55 pm

Seeing how much every1 here likes to quote me and then reply to the quotes, then change the quotes and reply to those too, ill seperate the parts of my response for your ease of dissection.

-5 for Fuck Off, 9 overall negative votes to a poll asking simply whether you came away from one of the greatest ongoing events of my life with any regrets, an unwarranted accusation of Necrophelia, and a quickness to pounce on every nuance of casually written text. Are you sure you are the same people I spend 7-10 days with in the desert with every year?

-No retractions here. What aspects of the topic have you explored in discussion Stuart. As I recall the thread was for a geisha, are you her?

-Hmmm.. a diamond in the rough? Its a pleasure to meet you Rian. *smiles teasingly* The Imps are indeed free to play. I hope they can take as well as they try to give.

-you rubes in govnt and lesser industry ought not to think so little of yourselves.

-Poor Sensai, all he wants is to be loved. Don't get enough attention at home? You have quite the ego, delusions of grandeur and all that. I dont OWE you anything. I dont even know you, and yet I am pretty sure you could not have passed up an opportunity to speak unless someone had tied you up and gagged you. So much for the gift economy huh, back to the realm of forced debt and casual insult.

-PetsUntilEaten you are an interesting one, scary, and oh so wrong, but maybe just a bit more jaded than is healthy and at heart a good person. I dont even know if I want to explain myself in the context of your thought process but I may as well clear up a few misinterpretations, at least as far as I'm concerned.

ME: aspiring science fiction/fantasy writer slash undergrad student at UCD studying environmental policy analysis and city planning. prolly gonna end up working for the state or govnt unless my writing is successful, so I guess that makes me a rube too.

MOVIE MAKER: my brother, graduated from USC in film studies, using burning man as a forum to show his indepently produced, zero budget, infinite amount of hard work, yet still come out amazing films by playing them free at our theme camp for interested passers.

I have nothing against the sex industry, but theres no involvement here, amatuer or pro. The Adult Film Entertainers was an attempt to be humorous, part of an inside joke about two of my friends, porn stars in their own minds yet electricians in real time, dont worry. The rest of the small group is my brothers girlfriend and her friend, and maybe a few others. Small groups need every1 to give equal effort and get along, i learned from experience you dont want to take just any1.

I merely saw the post about brothel girl looking for a wild camp and rolled with it in reverse. Back the microscope off and take a deep breath, the terror alert has gone back down to yellow, theres no villian here for you to crucify, you can all rest safely again in the comforts of your government jobs and delusional minds.

I swear to gawd.

Around here "fuck off" has a 50% chance of meaning I love you. 100% if you just assume it always does.

Hey, Sensei. Fuck off.

See? He knows he's loved.

And y'all are delusional with this whole "adult table" and "kiddie table" thing.

By the way, Lydia Lovely, I sincerely hope that you fuck off very, very much. Seriously, from the bottom of my heart... and ignore Sensei... he will never tell you to fuck off the way I will.

Invisi -

We are indeed the people you spend your 7-10 days with. What about you? I mean if someone came into my camp & said something along the lines of your first post & I'd either ignore you or engage you the way I've engaged you - the second option would be the "meeting you half way" option.

Having had my run ins with bad euro-swingers / porn types (pink pussycat anyone?), I don't apoligize for wondering you who and what you are. Your first post was a joke I didn't get - sorry - you are obviously not pros - but certainly did sound that way.

I'm not the love everyone who crosses your path kinda girl.

I'm the meet everyone half way kinda girl.

QUICK... STICK YOUR FINGER IN THE DAM>>>>>

Post by InvisibleMan » Sun Sep 26, 2004 3:58 pm

I cant decide if I like you pets... so after sleeping on the matter, Ive decided to explore a bit of social experimentation and lay out two alternate routes of communication that I'm willing to travel down with you, and let you decide which of them to base any future interactions between us. Theres no means of limiting the effect of your reading both, so it will be up to you to keep an open mind and respond without bias.

Option 1
{{{Bwahaha.. how funny. You can just call me Mr Porn King sweets. Am I mistaken or is this a discussion board not your camp? You expressed your opinion on the true nature of my post and it turned out to be wrong. We can argue the validity of the judgement based on the information you had available but ultimately you have your interpretations and I have mine. I apologize for not wording my post to your likings, and will be sure to think my words over carefully before posting again... in a sincere and ongoing effort to avoid triggering awful memories of the hairy-backed portuguese men u slept with on camera in your jaded past (pink pussycat anyone?)}}}}}}}}

Option 2
But yet, as I take a deep breath, think over what you said and what my initial reply was going to be, determine how that fits with what I percieve, I think that maybe I am being too harsh. Communication lines are open, are established in writing, viewpoints expressed, banter exchanged, and now here we stand having known each other only a few weeks in passing and already we are arguing. I do say that in this light I kinda like you, perhaps we are not so different, and I'm willing to start fresh, meet you half way.

My name is jesse, and anything youd care to know about me is for the asking in this flow. As for the liberty I took in wording, hoping to draw in a new element, I'm willing to admit that I am exploring a bit more of my sexuality than i had previously allowed myself, and I owe a great deal of that to the burning man environment. Im pretty happy with where its going and how far i've already come. (pardon the pun)

BUT... in a teasing and sarcastic effort to meet you halfway I do hereby formally apologize for the seedy nature of the post, thank you ever so kindly for keeping it alive, and for your generous and giving output into the quality of the conversation and continuing responsibility in maintaining the moral and ethical standards of burning man.

Like me or hate me or both, it's now up to you to decide which confused, juggled route to follow.

Have to tell you pets, upon my initial reading of your post it wasn't clear to me whether you were making mocking Kristy Kream or hoping she would join your camp. Doesn't really matter though. You made a joke, which was actually an indirect attack on another eplayan (Kristy). Your post was was misunderstood and mocked. Then you get pissed.

What, can't take your own medicine?

If your going to mock people maybe you should thicken your skin.

Um, Markov? Shouldn't that first sentence read, "Have to tell you InvisibleMan..." ? PetsUntilEaten didn't start this thread, nor has she mentioned Kristy.

oh Markov -

Understandable mistake considering how often I hold an open call for hookers on the eplaya (every Wednesday to be exact.) I find the eplaya to be the perfect place to audition New Meat for next year. I don't know why more people don't use the eplaya to find sex partners - no pictures - no filters (other than an interest in Burning Man) - perfecto really.

I mean, who needs Tribe when I can just line 'em up & knock 'em down from here?

Kisses to all -

Rian: My new sig line has something to do with the cosmos, complexity theory, the transit between the Horsehead Nebula, the Crab Nebula, and Woodrow, and the instructions for setting up a DVD player. It's all very Taoist... I think.

Lydia: Ummmm.... Good to see you back. I'd be there helping you this weekend, but the commute is a bugger...

Speaking of Bugger, where in the hell is Sensei? We need to have a serious conversation about the sanctity of marriage... if there is such a thing...

... yeah!...

Maybe if you get a little more zen about what you consider yours - like this thread.

Main Entry: ig·no·min·i·ous
Pronunciation: "ig-n&-'mi-nE-&s
Function: adjective
1 : marked with or characterized by disgrace or shame : DISHONORABLE
2 : deserving of shame or infamy : DESPICABLE
3 : HUMILIATING, DEGRADING <suffered an ignominious defeat>
- ig·no·min·i·ous·ly adverb
- ig·no·min·i·ous·ness noun

Ignatius of Antioch (probably died AD 107) was the third bishop of Antioch, after Saint Peter and Euodius, whom Ignatius succeeded around AD 68. Ignatius, who also called himself Theophorus, was most likely a disciple of both Apostles Peter and John. Several of his letters have survived to this day; he is generally considered to be one of the Apostolic Fathers (the earliest group of the Church Fathers), and a saint by both the Catholic, who celebrate his feast day on February 1, and the Orthodox churches, who celebrate his feast day on October 17.

He was arrested by the Roman authorities and transported to Rome to die in the arena. They hoped to make an example of him and thus discourage Christianity from spreading. Instead, he met with and encouraged Christians all along his route, and wrote letters to the Ephesians, Magnesians, Trallians, Philadelphians, Smyrneans, and Romans, as well as a letter to Polycarp, who according to Christian tradition was Bishop of Smyrna and a disciple of John the Evangelist.

These letters proved to be influential in the development of Christian theology, since the number of extant writings from this period of church history is very small. They bear signs of being written in great haste and without a proper plan, such as run-on sentences and an unsystematic succesion of thought. Ignatius is the first known Christian writer to put great stress on loyality to a single bishop in each city, who is assisted by both presbyters (priests) and deacons. Earlier writings only mention either bishops or presbyters, and give the impression that there was usually more then one bishop per congregation. Ignatius also stresses the value of the Eucharist, calling it "a medicine to immortality". The very strong desire for bloody martyrdom in the arena, which Ignatius expresses rather graphically in places, seems quite odd to the modern reader.

Nowadays only the shorter variants of those seven letters are thought to be genuine writings of Ignatius. Their longer variants are thought to be emendations from the fifth century, created to postumously enlist Ignatius as an unwitting witness into certain theological fights of that age, while the other letters bearing his name, and the purported eye-witness account of his martyrdom, are thought to be pure forgeries from around the same time.

Laugh even harder, Joel, I was trying for igneous (as in rock) when I put in Ignatious. I guess the Polish blood won out.
