Dr. Pyro wrote:I want to thank everyone who was at the work party this weekend in Placerville. There was indeed a small army there, probably 20 or more Barbiebarians. Everyone got a chance to meet Minxy which was nice indeed. Cap'n Joe's humongous art vehicle is taking shape, we have the Barbie foosball table not only painted pink but all of the foosmen have been replaced by Barbies. We are in need of at least one new sofa as we emptied out the silver trailer and found one, perhaps two, in an advanced state of blight. Also the shower absolutely positively needs to be replaced. We have 10 people with 10 different ideas and sometime soon we'll need to come to a consensus. One thing is for certain: We will have a terrific shower that runs electrically so you can actually get clean. We even supply the loufas; you need to supply your shower partner. We were well fed, well "watered" (who knew mojitos were so damn addicitive?), and the camaraderie shows me that we will again be the best damn theme camp on the playa. Thank you everyone, you should be proud.

Hey, I'm available as a stand-in shower partner. Never shower alone.. it's a waste of valuable water!!

We have been placed! Barbie Death Village will be at 4:00 and Edelweiss, stretching 400 feet along Edelweiss and 430 feet along 4:00. 3 acres of prime playa real estate baby!

Looking over the BRC map, our Village will be a mirror image of last year. This year we will stretch from Edelweiss all of the way to Geranium, but instead of going from 4:00 towards 4:20, we will go from 4:00 back towards 3:40. So you can get space along the frontage roads, Geranium or Edelweiss.

I thought ya'll were at 3:30 and E that last couple years?
Or at least the main Barbie Death Camp barbies and ovens were on that corner.

Procrastination worked in my favour - I had planned to make my "if found" tags on the weekend. I would have had our address as 3.30 and E. But now I'm really glad I didn't coz that would have been wrong!

All right you lot, I'm making laminated "return me to BDC" tags for your gear (or yourselves). I will make some generic ones with room to write your names on and some that are individualised. Get your orders in if you want some. And can someone send me this years sticker logo and tshirt logo so I can use these as pictures on the tags.

I'm prepared to make some for others outside the village. Let me know if you would like some.

Much love.

Melaniejane;

If you would, please create two more, one for me, one for my daughter. Mine a simple generic as I have no playa or nickname. If you could personalize hers with the name Little Bear, even better.

This is a wonderful idea, heartfelt appreciation.

Melanie: Could I ask for four of them? One for me, and one for each of my fellow-campers. We don't have playa names yet, so blank ones would be just fine.
:) Thanks!

Oh, and FIGJAM: that link is fantastic and explains a lot. :shock: Thanks for sharing it! :lol:

OK, this is the first "official" announcement on placement within the Village of individual camps and people. Certain camps will be placing their own people once on the playa (Shangri-Playa, Camp Wet Dreams, Eden, Dye With Dignity, AntiM's Home For Wayward Art, Barbie Day Spa, and Blukis 2.0 The Lithuanians). Some of you might need to rethink how much space you're really going to need (Tamara, 9600 square feet? Are you sure you need that much?). Pretty much all the real estate facing the main streets, Edelweiss, 4:00, and Geranium, have been claimed. All major theme camps listed above, plus Barbie Death Camp & Wine Bistro, are on the major streets. As of now we are beginning to fill in Loose Nutz and to a lesser extent the area around Eden. If you aren't directly affiliated with Eden, Dye With Dignity, AnitM, or Barbie Day Spa, now would be a good time to ask for space. Please do not request more than you need. We are getting a bit squeezed. Not everybody is going to be happy with their placement! Seniority has its privileges. If you would like a copy of the current map placement, PM me with your email address and I will forward it to you. This is subject to many, many revisions as we count down to arriving on the playa. Also note, I am not the one who does the placement. That is Tracy's responsibility. So do not shoot the messanger if you're unhappy with the amount of space you received or where you're located within the Village. Frankly, I'm not too keen about where I have been placed, but that's the way it goes sometimes. We live in an imperfect world. One thing is for certain: We're a helluva lot better organized than most camps/villages.
