Re: One Item for BM a Day
Got my ticket after sitting in the post office lobby for 40 min waiting for the lady to come back for the day with her mail. I got a fire ball!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I can't remember if there's a reason why they're using both Fireballs and Lemonheads, but I have read that the candy is included in the first place to give the envelopes more dimension, so they don't fall down into cracks and becoming lost during shipping.
I hope that's true.

Added a bit of style to my swamp cooler.

Put aluminum tape over the white plastic corner on my trailer to make it totally opaque. Not sure how I'm going to deal with the translucent roof vent yet - some combination of mylar and/or aluminum tape.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I have a very specific place for our tickets, out of sight but not so hidden I can't find them. Anytime we take a trip, all our paperwork goes there too.
Somewhere there's a thread about "where do you keep your ticket". Sob stories... the two I re call best is "on the fridge and they got stolen when I had a party" and "in the glovebox and they got stolen when someone broke into my car". Yikes!!!!

Picked up a new 10x20 carport last night after a guy finally got back to me. Hoping to pick up some carpet tonight or tomorrow.

You'll love it! We use ours year round. It's relaxing to set up the folding chairs on a rainy day in there to listen to the pitter-patter. Also wonderful to do rainy day grilling in.Kire wrote:Picked up a new 10x20 carport last night after a guy finally got back to me. Hoping to pick up some carpet tonight or tomorrow.
Tip: Unfasten the top level bungies of the end panels at the roof peak. It lets out an incredible amount of heat on brutally sunny days and drops the inside temp by 10 to 15 degrees.

VultureChow the garbage fence is fantastic! I can't wait to see it in person.
Trilo, I really like the shirt design a lot. I can see a lot of people breaking out their disguises to try to get their hands on one.
BSG I agree with you about spicy candy. I have never been a fan of fireballs. Lemonheads are a different story.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Today, got the VainVan back with new Solenoid (fingers crossed that's all that was broken) got more "sharkbite" PVC and blue duct tape for "Water Boat" costume, also picked up a pricey but perfect fabric (that looks like water) for the top of the boats (which turned out to be kind of stupid and empty looking. Also got a few cans of Guava juice, a six pack of Revive vitamin water and two sizes of heavy duty ziplock bags.

Ordered 5 speed gear hub conversion kit for my trike to cope with potentially non-ideal playa conditions.

Scheduled a neighborhood cruise on the as-yet unmodified playa trike this evening.

Began crafting a cool utility belt using 2 small purses I got at the thrift store ($4 total) and one grommeted belt ($2 total), plus some metal hardware and jump rings.
Gonna sew on a few pockets, but basically, my utility belt is done for WAY less than $10. Plus there's tons of pockets in the purses for sunblock, keys, camera, etc etc

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Not today, but earlier this week, I got my new 'sling' back pack!

Its pretty awesome!
Though it has a TON of pockets and pouches. I have no idea how I want to organize it all. My last bag was similar, but it was just one giant pocket, and one little pocket on the out side.
The bag is a little smaller than I imagined it would be. Its kind of small on me.
My one major critique of the bag is that the large zippered pocket (the large zipper show in the pic) that you can access by swinging the bag under the left arm is smaller than the large pocket that you can get to from the right side.
It doesn't make sense at all, the idea of the 'sling' back pack is that you don't have to take the bag off to get to your stuff. I'm thinking about removing the nylon barrier that separates the left/front large-ish pocket and the right/back larger pocket. Then I can sew one of the zippers shut so that things aren't falling out one side, while I'm cramming them in the other.
Thats Yggy's cue^^^
But, Global Dance Festival is this Saturday, so I can give the bag a great test run beating and see what I think.
Also, yesterday put in our El Wire order, from Cool Neon. Surprisingly, ordered it yesterday, it it should arrive tomorrow and it was only shipped Fedex ground.

I finally found a hat that fit...so I spent 2 hours covering it in my favorite fabric, and EL wired the whole thing. Done. Don't know why it was so difficult to do this one thing. The dogs were a BIG help.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
The hat sounds cool mgb, that reminds me I need to do some mucking about to make a couple custom decorations for a hat I've got.
I ordered some more supplies and blank shirts for another (shorter) run of tee shirts (assuming everything arrives on schedule I hope to get to it next week), and also put in orders for a couple shirts and a couple pair of pants I've been wanting to get. I live a pretty playafied life, so they're things I'll use in defaultia as well as on the dust. We also got shower curtains for the camp shower.
