"New Bicycle Registration Policy at Bunring Man
Bunringman is one of the biggest Bicycle Communities in the world! That’s no small feat and we are proud to help serve the bike community in any way we can. Bicycles bring a facet of DIY to the playa and provide more than a means of transportation but an added opportunity to radically express oneself. We love our Bikes at Bunringman! We mean to keep our bike community safe and flourishing.
In response to several growing problems accumulated by our burgeoning metropolis, Bunringman has created the Bureau of Playa Bike Recovery (B-PBR). Unfortunately, what many Participants do not get to see are the thousands of abandoned bikes left over aver the Main exodus. These bikes cost the event many thousands of dollars to collect and store and over the years has accumulated into a lost bicycle nightmare. Many of these bikes could be reclaimed by there rightful owners but without names or contact information, Bunringman can not do so. Therefore in an effort to help solve this problem, Bunringman has created a Mandated Bike registration for all Bicycles entering our city.
How it works:
All Bicycles will need to be pre registered online to receive a Registration Tag before the event. This must be displayed on your bicycle at all times during the event. We have spent a lot of time finding tags that can both survive the desert and identify each bicycle to it’s owner. Each tag comes with a RIF chip hologram along with any other information you choose to write on it, like camp address, name etc. You can even send us a picture of your bike to help in the recovery process in case your bike gets lost for whatever reason. Bikes without proper registration tags will be confiscated at will and held at the owners expense till after Monday, Sept. 3, 2012.
People who opt not to register their bikes but choose instead to leave their bikes in our Bike holding area can do so voluntarily for an additional $15, to be paid at the Gate upon arrival.
We ask that people be responsible in not leaving Bicycles or other gear on the sides of the road coming in or out and assure you Local Authorities are prepared to issue littering tickets for doing so.
Bike registration will open on June 1st, 2012 so that Tags may be sent to you before the event. Instructions will be posted at that time about the exact registration process."
really? Seriously?

Don't worry, it's for Bunring Man, the diametrically opposed enemy sister-festival of Burning Man.

It's as if asshats make shit up and post it randomly on the internet, and then gullible people freak out about it. You've been punked.
