Re: The person below me
Only when I'm playing with little kids. Then I'm apt to be found doing things like filling a toy dumptruck with gravel and pouring it out down the porch stairs, shouting "Wowee, rocks!!" Yes, this has happened. But he started it. *Pouts and points to (then) 2-year-old nephew."
TPBM thinks "Wowee!" is an underused exclamation.

No. I like it, though. I have made several attempts to add it to my active lexicon, but never with any success.
(I also love Shazam! It has such a retro-comic-book feel to it!)

I had to go and "research" that question on YouTube.
It would be hard to say I prefer either of them to anything, but Gore gets a slight edge thanks to "You Don't Own Me."

Re: The person below me
A Strangler vs. a hangman, eh? I'll go with the former, because I'm a strange little girl. Bullshit. I'm not little; I'm long past girlhood; and I'm not nearly as strange as I'd like to imagine. Also, I had to Google both of those names, lest you think I actually passed that little pop-culture quiz. I decided I preferred Cornwell after listening to one song and liking it. And, yes, it was "Strange Little Girl." Then I remembered that a massive crush I once had on a fop was a fan of the Stranglers, and how he broke my heart...

Re: The person below me
Yeah, relocating to Toronto from Winnipeg. Movers took the big stuff, we had a rented minivan with the rest. We hit a moose on a dark and lonely stretch of highway in Northern Ontario. Both of us ok, but the moose was dead and the van was totalled. It was a baby moose, so only the size of a horse, and no antlers. Given that the moose's head hit the driver's side windshield, I think it's fair to say I'd be a widow now if we'd hit an adult.
Anyways, the cops who came to our aid were fantastic. One guy gave us candies and regaled us with stories of small-town policing while his partner filled in the police report, in first person, from my partner's point of view. "I was driving down the highway, observing the posted speed limit, when a moose jumped in front of my vehicle..." (and, no, he didn't ask us how fast we'd been driving). They brought us to the nearest town and found us a motel, and they arranged a tow truck to take the van to a wrecking yard. They gave us their cards to call them if we needed any help the next day. They put us at ease and took care of our immediate needs, exactly what a first-responder should do, but to us in that moment, it felt like so much more.

Re: The person below me
The CO and I once had a lovely malamute named Nikki. Nikki liked beer. She preferred her beer to be the dredges in the bottom of the bottle, even better if it was a few days old. She had learned that if she knocked over a beer bottle, beer came out. She also learned that if she stepped on the neck of the bottle MORE beer came out. (To be honest, I really didn't believe The CO when he told me this.)
Shortly after The CO's grandfather passed, we had all the LDS cousins over to our place for two nights to drink beer and smoke pot. On the third day everyone, including The CO, had to head back to home or work. I left the house to run errands, not thinking of the four empty half racks of MGD under my kitchen table awaiting recycling. When I got home, Nikki was passed out in the living room. Upon entering the kitchen to put away groceries, I discovered every bottle pulled out of their cardboard homes and scattered throughout my kitchen and tongue prints all over my floor. Realizing what had happened, I went to get Nikki up and outside (so that when she got sick, she would not do it in the house).
What The CO had failed to mention, was that Nikki was a belligerent drunk. When I woke her up, she grumbled and growled and generally threw a fit, but I eventually got her on her feet and headed outside. She had to pass through three doorways on her way out, and when she did she was swerving so much that she bumped into both side of each doorway beffore stumbling down the back steps. When she reached the yard, she turned and gave me a look that siad, "WHAT?!? Like you've never been here?" I luaghed myself silly.
She did have a hangover the next day.
TPBM isn't sure if that's funny.

Re: The person below me
Yeah. I used to love going out dancing, and then I got too old for the clubs. Not sure where old farts can go dance to decent DJs 'round these parts. The bars in the gaybourhood are very welcoming and full of people my age, but all they ever play is cheesy techno versions of Top 40 (Chris Brown+ "oomts oomts oomts" + air raid-sirens) or '80s retro (Duran Duran + "oomts oomts oomts" + air-raid sirens). In the places that play good music, I'm as old as everyone else's parents. Sigh...
TPBM takes umbrage at the above comment because s/he loves Duran Duran + "oomts oomts oomts" + air-raid sirens.
