AA batteries from Amazon came today and so did my clear goggles. I think this should be enough

Picked up a tutu at the thrift store (oooooh purple!), a thin towel that will dry quickly for playa showers, and a plastic sealable half and half container for the cooler.
In dust we trust.

Found a used mountain bike for $40 and bought obnoxious yellow/purple/orange faux fur to muppetize it!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Went through the airstream and stripped it of essential burner items like spare tire tubes for the bikes, all our lights, hats, pots and pans etc. Restocked the first aid kit (more like a first aid trunk). Ken is going through testing batteries and lights. Getting down to the nitty gritty here guys!
When the only tool you got is a hammer, every problem looks like a hippie.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I [again] organized the Burner Room and gathered up the satin fabric for covering the upholstery in the RV. I also put batteries in all the blinkies and then sewed some led lights into my nighttime clothes.
I got a spare cup at Grocery Outlet that's even larger than my old one. I need to verify it fits into my bike cupholder--which reminds me, I need to go for my nightly conditioning ride before it gets completely dark.

If you think you've overdone it, double it.
Re: One Item for BM a Day
This weekend I:
*replaced LEDs in 10 little keychain lights. Took out the white ones & made 8 UV ones and 2 slow fade rainbow ones
*Sewed an add-on piece for my first playa coat. The coat is a few years old; super-awesome dark purple fur with glow-in-the-dark star lining. But it's short (just past my butt). So I made a tie-on bottom piece of purple/white/black spike fur so I can either have the short version (good for bike riding) or the long version (good for watching the sunrise).
*finished meal planning
*found my "lost" box of blinky light goodies from last year (YAY!!)
And today I received an ebay package that was supposed to be 10ft of teal EL wire but was 6ft of lime green EL wire. To top it off this was my 2nd attempt to buy aqua/teal EL wire that has failed. Either that color doesn't exist in EL wire anymore (I do have some already, just in shorter strands), or there's a lot of colorblind folks out there....

Oh and my one item for the day is attempting to pair up socks and put them in my backpack (while the cat tries to run off with them), and wash t-shirts etc. Fly out in one week!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I just purchased a 1 month Tanning package. My goal is to build up a little bit of a base tan, so(hopefully)
I won't burn to a crisp out there.
Did someone say Crisco-Twister???
Re: One Item for BM a Day
I scored an awesome little fiberglass travel trailer (ala Foxfur style) and I'm so excited! It's not the same as his but it's similar and it's so perfect for my needs this year on playa. I can't express how excited I am; it's like a little mobile fort! I LOVE FORTS!
I'm about 2/3 packed. I just have the few random items to chase down and pop in my stash and the final non-perishable grocery run then I'm fairly set.
I wish I had time to paint the trailer some outrageous color but I don't. Maybe for next year.

You can get bacon bumperstickers from northern sun. The more you buy, the cheaper. A hundred bacon bumperstickers on the trailer, there's a vision.

IMO, this trailer just cries out to be painted some bright happy color, I just don't think I'll have the time (or probably money, really) to do it before I go.

Thanks, Sav! It's not as pimped out as Foxybutt's....yet.
We just got it, so I probably won't have time to get fancy for this year but I'm so thrilled. It's the perfect little playa house and will be so helpful for a long stay.

Hooooray for lil trailers! We love ours. I see you're nearby in Vallejo...do you know Sherry Tobin? She's got a ladybug truck and matching trailer and lives there too. Also living there now are the O'Hares of NeverwasHaul fame. If you don't know any of these good folks yet I can connect you.
Just home from Reno ArtCar Fest (great fun, big success) so need to clean up the studio (which I used as a dumping ground for costumes etc.) and get back to work making the water boat costumes, seven more to go!

By next year Will should have it fully automated and tricked out with touchscreens, a sauna, and a robot chef.
BTW, I'm in the process of painting my trailer khaki.
I installed 10 meters of white LED rope lighting and it looks fantastic.
Also a 1 meter color changing LED strip above the bed.
It will be set to red on the playa...

@BoyScoutGirl I know about the spray painting but again, I don't know that I have time and that I want to spend the money on that right now when I'm in full-on playa prep mode. We'll see; I'd love to paint it a bright, happy color.
@EmilyD Ooh, I didn't know you were local-ish. =) I don't know hardly anyone around here most of my "people" are up in Portland. I haven't even bothered with costumey stuff this year, completely not in that mode. Maybe next year.
@MacGlenver Thanks for the photo thingy. I used to know how I just haven't done it for ages.
@Foxfur Ya!!! It's darn cute. If I have time I may at least trick out the inside a bit for comfort and ambiance.
It's so darling! Of course you're painting your trailer khaki...why am I not surprised?

Minxy, your rig looks like a toaster, sorta. How about a piece of toast sticking up on the top ? Maybe a Rainbow sack of bread.
Damn, now I want a grilled cheese sandwich.
