Re: WTF
This could, theoretically, go in the Preparation forum, I guess.
But it's just so WTF to me. It's like the Slanket of water-carriers.

Re: WTF
Apparently the folks at weather.com have an imperfect understanding of how thermometers work.
I log in just now and it is showing a current temp of 93 degrees. Wondering how much hotter it will get, I clicked on details for today and it says we will have a high temp of 91 degrees today.

Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

(Takes notes furiously.)Karl Lang, 49, was found guilty today of 12 counts of causing women to engage in sexual activity without consent.
The rogue medium targeted two women in their 20s who sought him out in the belief he could contact dead relatives.
Lang, of Newport, South Wales, brainwashed his vulnerable victims and went so far as to claim he was Jesus Christ reincarnated.
Both women were encouraged to perform sex acts in front of him and pressed to act more and more outrageously as his influence increased.
One told the trial she was conned into acting like a ''porn star'' in the belief that her naked antics would boost her own spiritual powers.

‘Human Zoo’ Allowed Tourists to Throw Bananas at Islanders
"Dance," the policeman instructed. The girls in front of him, naked from the waist up, obeyed. A tourist's camera panned round to another young woman, also naked and awkwardly holding a bag of grain in front of her. "Dance for me," the policeman commanded.
[T]he price of a day out with the Jarawa: up to 15,000 rupees (£185) to buy off the police, another 10,000-15,000 rupees on top of that for a car, a driver, gifts for the Jarawa, and biscuits and snacks. Contact is guaranteed, he promised.

I've been up there, you can get pretty far up by a road up the back of Ben Lomond. But there's no water, hiking without it is insane in this heat.

I was going to post a specific type of "cookbook", but didn't know if it was allowed. I found it rather interesting.
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

Many of the recipes therein are notoriously unreliable, or dangerous to the user, perhaps intentionally so.theCryptofishist wrote:Here you go.
