Foam. Also buttons for a project. Started a spread sheet--so far 3 items. I'm working my way up...

Received 20 54x82" space blankets for capes and tent-cooling. Held planning session for theme camp and coordinated car pool logistics.

Jesus Christ it's close. I leave in a month!
Crochet. Fucking. Fence. If I never see orange yarn again after this experience, I'll be thrilled.
Actually taking my lunch hour today and hitting Michael's for some sock weight green wool yarn which will become little felted pot leaves to go in little baggies for the fence.
I must be insane. Why am I still doing this?

Minxy the trailer looks awesome! Does it say Fiber Stream on it?
Man, hopefully that isn't some foreshadowing.

My one item a day today will be many items as I hope to do my second to last burn grocery shop today. Everything but perishables (I hope, I always forget SOMETHING).

Received my quick wicks for fire hooping in the mail. FUCK YEAH!!!!!
Ordered some string lights (some of the ones from last year broke)
Also added a night to our stay since getting there from FL takes a tons of imaginary ours from our picking up supplies time.
Looked for flights again...sigh this is going to be the most expensive part.

Worked on some leather designs, and a faux leopard fur vest.
Finalized the design for some camp art.

Bought some more canned-food goods. Rotated the tires on the Suburban, and getting ready to do an oil change on it. More rebar.....and a little sewing.

(((((Vulture Chow))))) For what it's worth, I think this a wonderfully snarkly little project that the people running across will love. And, well, I think you got something to have intuited what a cool project it would be without having been to the playa.VultureChow wrote:Jesus Christ it's close. I leave in a month!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
soaked the dome bolts in vinegar overnight to clean the playa corrosion off of them. worked great! next, soaking them in oil along with bike chain and other moving parts. now to cut the blackberries back far enough to retrieve the cartop carrier that holds the dome cover... along with continuing to put together our Humboldt regional meet n greet this saturday. it's the end of freaking July, so I can do more than one thing a day for burning man, right? right.

Free bike rack for my new burn bike! I finally have something sturdy to hold my battery and inverter. Hooray for people throwing perfectly good things in the trash!

FYI Virgin Air is having a 20% off sale and they fly Orlando to SFO. Might also stack with an existing sale their running. Will PM you the same, but posting here in case anyone else can benefit. If this is lower than what you booked, most airlines will let you cancel within 24 hours of booking.lazerfox wrote:Got our flights booked at a reasonable price and with TWO free bags included. Found one for ~$360 round trip before the 20% off coupon.

Also, did I just sleep through my own apotheosis?

Back to work on the water boat costumes...slow going but progress is progress. I canceled the expensive hotel and booked with Barbie Death Camp for the day before and day after. Also set up the official staging area for all our crap as we start to assemble it for packing. SO MUCH TO DO!

Boxes are down, batteries have been replaced on items that needed batteries, got a list and checking it twice.
You know it's going to be a bad day when you jump out of bed and miss the floor.
Re: One Item for BM a Day
I've been trying so hard to do "one item for BM a day" since January (at least). So now it's July 25 & I'm starting to hyperventilate when I count the days to departure!!! I think instead of getting everything done in a timely fashion I just decided that I had more time for more projects.
In the past few days I:
Signed up for my Official Duties within the theme camp
Harvested EL wire from an old costume to be repurposed on a puppet this year
Packed for our camping trip this coming weekend that is our last-chance-to-test-stuff-before-Burning-Man trip.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Discovered this weekend that the transfer of ownership paperwork was not done correctly for my playa trailer. The person I bought it from lives 4 hours drive distant, is not certain she even has the trailer registered in her name, and is leaving for a 2 week vacation in 4 days. Getting this mess figured out I'm sure will be the object of my obsession and high blood pressure for the next few days. Hoping it ends with a sigh of relief and not a panicky plan B
