Not a big fan of dub step so I'm tossing it out there to find out about any camps spinning some good old house and deephouse??
I know you must be out there? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Use your tingling techno-sense to find a camp. There are thousands of them and you WILL find what you are looking for if you explore

But burning man is not about assimilation! Think of how it would be if everyone did.
Can't embrace the whomp, sorry, it's not in my inner being, just trying to reach out into cyber world to find some others that get my vibe.

It's kind of a fool's game to tell you what/where to look for when the only really reliable method is to roam around and follow your ears until you find what you're in the mood for. But with that said, Robot Heart roving around the deep playa is always beautiful. Also, I seem to recall Distrikt being deliberately dubstep-free -- they're a daytime sound camp in the 9:00 neighborhood. Though I can't promise deep house -- I have no idea what they'll be playing this year.
Last year I was really thrilled with the diversity of the soundscape. I heard all kinds of stuff out there, even songs with words, even live bluegrass (thank you Front Porch).

I'm kidding.
Just walk until you hear something you like.. it's everywhere. Lineups will soon be out and then you can cherry pick your sets if you're in to that kind of thing.
Maybe.. just maybe.. try coming with an open mind and quit trying to pigeonhole music types. You might be surprised..

Used to like Dubstep...till I heard another dubstep song...then another...and another...and realized it's all the same! Bring back Trance...that, at least has some variety.

I Love dubstep, but I plan to wander as long as I need in order to find someone spinning swinghouse, at which point I will probably not leave until it stops. I have never had a music make me feel so consistently happy and motivated to dance as swinghouse.

Burning Man's not about assimilation, just as it's about respecting other peoples' choices and tastes in music. You kind of messed that one up in your original post

There will be a lot less dubstep this year with some of the most "popular" dub dj's taking the tear off. Dont get me wrong, there will be plenty of it, just not super headliners this year haha

I agree with the two of you. More trance.
It goes with the Burn's ethereal, surreal vibe.

Re: Down with Dubstep (well—for me) Any deephouse/house camp
I totally love the trance and house, reminds me of burning man way more than dubstep does. I do enjoy dubstep in the far off distance in a strange way, how it messes with my head.....I think the fad is slowing down. The rhythm will live on of course, but I think there is circular motion always in sound trends.
....Then there is the best DJ at Burning Man, better'n any big name....It is the biggest name.....Its DJ Cacophony. You can hear him out in the playa, just go to an open space, and listen. Nothing like the sound of DJ Cacophony. And there is only ONE place to hear him and hear that music. You can't even record it.
He is the grand sound of everything mashed together, bumping on the playa ground for miles...with some propane toots thrown in and some sirens
One time I was up on a pyramid watching sunrise and I heard a mile long mash up of psytrance and grateful dead. It was awesome

Once I sucure a ticket, reaching out to the community right now, I will effortlessly toil to install a complete ban on DubStep in BRC, no comprimise !!!
Re: Down with Dubstep (well—for me) Any deephouse/house camp
That's why I said "(well—for me)".
Perhaps you glossed over that? Dubstep is totally fine for those who love it. I love diversity and would never ask that Dub Step be removed from the burn. Goodness no! I'm just mearly stating what I like, and reaching out to see if others out there who like the same can post and share any camps they know of or are in, that play what I like.

Yes. Disco Knights and Robot Heart Bot. We'll know for sure once the Rockstar Librarian guide comes out and you'll be able to look at the camps and figure out who you might want to see. I know that on Wednesday there is going to be a Rebel Rave at Robot Heart Bot with Damian Lazarus, Art Department, and who knows who else.
Disco Knights and Robot Heart Bot are the ones I know for sure. But, I'm sure there's lots more. And it varies too, people play different camps. If you're into the "big names", then all will be revealed when the rockstar librarian guide comes out. But, I'm sure theres plenty of house/deephouse throughout the playa other than those two spots. Heck, I'll be playing deep house most of the time I'm at camp.

All you need to know is ROBOT HEART. Their lineups are always as good as it gets. Lee Burridge, M.A.N.D.Y., Damian Lazarus, Art Department, etc... Easily the best stage at Burning Man, and it moves to different locations the entire week.
https://www.facebook.com/RobotHeart

Easily the best stage at Burning Man.
Make sure you stay up to date with the Rockstar Librarian. All of the sound camps send her their lineups and she creates a document with all of the DJ lineups throughout the week.

Last year on Sunday I stumbled upon a Lee Burridge daytime set at Pla)'(askool. It was amazing and completely unexpected. Wander around the city with your ears open and you'll likely be pleasantly surprised. However, I did find it very difficult to pry myself from Distrikt and Robot Heart

I'm open to all types of music...when I hear shit, I turn it off or find something else. As a musician...one who plays an "Instrument"...I tend to be critical of electronic stuff. I have opened my eyes to a great deal from that genre..and absolutely love it! But, as a musician..Dubstep doesn't do it for me. IMHO it's simplistic, repetitive, crap. It sounds like my kid destroying my turntable...when he was 4 years old. IMHO
