sorry...distracted by Giants game, I'll admit it...

I am into gathering and meeting w/ other northbayers. Please keep me in loop.
Don't forget , there is a Northbay Decompression event, let me know if for some you don't know about it.
Meanwhile, I find myself craving some burner activity as I am rather isolated with a serious injury sustained at the playa. Not. whining, some good things have come of it! Just full of ideas and would love to exchange some :o
So in other words, let's bring it on!!!
BTW, I'm in West Sonoma County..

Regyna, Did Tristan go this year with DOTA? Cool guy but I havent seen him in some time. He helped me get a job with a vet in Sonoma some years ago. Well i look forward to meeting you. Oh and like I said in another post you may not have read, if you would like to come, I'm taking some Burner freinds from San Fran up to the African wildlife park this Sat. You are invited and may bring a freind. Gota keep that community working. right? We're going to camp on the beach that night as well, I think. Peace Kid, Noah

Tristan was in full effect this year as usual, he is the un-crowed king of DOTA, and we love him. we had such a great year...i think we'll do it again next year!

looking forward to meeting you too...it'll happen.

i wanna get a burner review together, kinda like a local version of suicide girls, but boys too, and do some shows up in healdsburg...i have a friend that is a promoter up there. anyways, keep tuned to this station, more fun to come!

Mylar kites at the Temple Burn

Post by Roo » Thu Sep 30, 2004 12:01 pm

Hi! My name is Roo. I'm with the Mutaytor. I just wanted to say that those mylar kites were one of my top five favorite art pieces at Burning Man this year!

Thank you so much! I love the large flowy kites that people fly at Burning Man, but yours' were brilliant: Silver and shiny so they could be seen at night (and reflected the freakin fire...), the fact that you guys brought them out to one of the two large burns and started surfing the air currents created by the massive heat, the sound the mylar made....

The whole thing just kept getting better the more I thought about it (as I watched 'em fly).

Thanks for helping to make my Burn this year!

xoxo

wow, thanks Roo! that is awesome...I will let the couple who flew those kites at the temple burn know about your message. They got engaged at Burning Man this year, they are a rad pair are Key and Mar flyin the mylar.

and I have to say that you made my burn...the rigging you do with the Mutaytor crew is badass, i was so inspired by that harness work. Saw you guys at the pre-Love party in SF too. i even got my picture taken with you and Pearl outside after the show...yep, i'm that dork! you and the rest of the girls rock my world, ok, the guys are great too...but i have to say that grrls and fire just turn my crank. oh yeah. I am definitely a fan!

i am so going to learn how to do that whole fire dance thing...it is my new passion. i have been doing african, and now samba, for years, and i am thinking some choreography might look cool with the fire spinning...but having never tried to move and spin at the same time i have no idea if it's even possible! i did some rigging at the climbing gym i used to work for, but i have never seen anything like the rig you had with the crane. dang. loved that. you guys made it look so easy...but i can tell it's not!

anyways, major thread drift, but wow...you know what would be really amazing is if i get my ass in gear and book some shows up here maybe you guys could come up and do a cameo...hey, it could happen!

anyways, hope that LA DeCom was all that...and that your world domination tour kicks ass. oh, and btw, my tshirt says Mulaylor...i want my money back :)

Ha!

Everybody says that. That's just the font that Buck chose, years ago, to be our font. And at this point, we can't argue with tradition.

If you're ever down here in LA, drop me a note. I'd be happy to teach you some stuff if you like. Or just play around.

I think we're coming up to SF more these days, so let's stay in touch about all that stuff. You can email me at [email protected] Thanks again for those kites!

xoxo
