Re: Rest In Peace
John Pedone, a 40 year old resident of Granada Hills, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Valley Glen on Friday, May 4, 2012.
A lifelong resident of the San Fernando Valley, he graduated from El Camino High School.
John was a veteran lighting technician and member of The International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees. He worked on hundreds of films, TV shows, theatrical productions, concerts, festivals and events, where he brought skill and a love of his craft and the arts to everything he worked on.
He helped countless people to find jobs and work in his industry, and was instrumental in making many great projects happen that brought joy to the community.
John Pedone was the godfather of the Mystikal Misfits Burning Man camp, and was the architect behind the crazy, amazing structure of our camp every year. His opus magnum was the Waldorf Mystoria Hotel, our camp in 2010 (Metropolis theme), which in addition to a bar and lounge with live music and a different hotel convention every day, 4 stories high and a spiral grand staircase, had a working elevator with stops as the second, third and fourth floors, in which we took Burners in wheelchairs up to the top to see the view all week long.
He was also an artist, skydiver, motorcycle rider, scuba diver, stilt walker and clown.
He is survived by two brothers and his mother, and a huge community of friends on the playa and off, his Mystikal Misfits Framily, and co-workers who will always remember him and miss him greatly.

The most impressive thing about her wasn't being fired into space, but standing by what she knew was right.
She was working here when she was recruited for nasa, applying on a whim.

Dang. Paul is the only one left? Paul? You mean he's free to continue spewing out crap? At least Ringo never took himself all that seriously. And didn't have dreary marital status shenanigans to embarass us.

I guess the choir of heavenly angels needed a baritone crooner... Grew up listening to him make hearts go flutter flutter...

I'm a little late in posting this:
My wifes mother passed away July 26th of kidney problems. 82 years old. She lived in Reading, Pennsylvania.
So we'll be flying back there in a few days to clean her apartment out.

Now on the local news in northern Nevada:
My doctor, Gary Dankworth, has been missing after setting out alone on a day hike in the John Muir widerness to climb 13,855ft Norman Clyde peak.
Don't know the details but, he didn't come out alive. 60 years old and in great physical condition

sorry for your losses thecatman. Dr. Dankworth must have been quite a guy. I was saddened when I heard the news that he didn't make it. It sounds as if he died doing something he loved. I hope in the end his passing was peaceful...

Thanks lucky420.
Yeah, he'd tell me some of his adventures when I'd have an appointment. He would wind surf at lake Tahoe, surf at San Diego, cross country ski in the Sierras, as well as hike in the Sierras.
He was the first high school track and field athelte in Nevada history to pole vault 17+ feet in the late 60s at Reno high.

Dear Marilyn,
It's been 50 years since we lost you. I'm sorry you died so young. I know you didn't mean for anything to happen. Knowing you're at peace makes it a little easier. I'll always love you, not for the sexy actress, or the celebrity, but for the woman who wanted nothing more than to just be loved.
