Cloud Nine artcar... help, I need to find their music!
I'm looking to get in contact with the wonderful folks who made the Cloud Nine car with the pole-dance-pole and disco ball...
...they were playing the grooviest music and after spending the last half of a rough night onboard I *really* want to track down what it all was!!!
Any pointers/help appreciated...
For the record they were playing some form of groovy mid-energy electronica I don't know the genre name of -- but I did hear other examples at BM this year!
The track that was most memorable had a constantly mutating vocal line that was going:
"aristo-cat - mysti-cat - sophisti-cat..."
and it's still stuck in my head!!! Help!!!
Thanks,
aaron

hhmmm...first of all, you might have better luck on the lost and found board...but that sounds suspiciously like our Cafe Camp art car. We didn't have a name for it, tho. We had a disco ball and pole up top (yeah, like that narrows it down) and played some pretty groovy tunes. It was a white van shrouded in a ships-hull-thing made out of coffee bags...is that it?

Hmmm, maybe I'll try the L&F...
the Cloud in question was built on a minivan chassis with a custom steering rig; it was covered in "cloud" fluff and was most definitely named "cloud nine" -- though apparently there were TWO cloud nine mobiles around this year!
This one you had to climb "up" to since it was a stage with a wrap-around couch in back at about 8' up with a pole up front and discoball mounted on a security frame in back... :)
(I always love catching myself describing absurd playa things... a reminder of the high strangeness I now take so for granted...)

White fabric on a wire frame, couch up front for the driver and mattress, moon in back of couch attached to stripper pole ?aaron_ximm wrote: the Cloud in question was built on a minivan chassis with a custom steering rig; it was covered in "cloud" fluff and was most definitely named "cloud nine" -- though apparently there were TWO cloud nine mobiles around this year!

I remember
I remember that car. it was all fluffly couds on the outside with lights you could controll from a controll board once you were in. The owner was very nice. here is a photo I took (doesnt show much of the car itself) of the creator ... i think its the creator anyway....

My experience was pleasant except for one guy who wouldnt let me on untill I grabbed more girls to bring on board... Mostly it was fun
