Dropped off our gear with other FL burners who are renting out space in their massive trailer. (Go Hooka Lounge! Safe travels!!)

Began tie dyeing!

Finished the food odds and ends at the commissary, bought sharing beer, and camp beer for MyLarry. Packed all the food and beer, again. He's repacking the clothes bins (he does it better than I do).

Did a practice set up of our shade structure and aluminet, since we changed the design slightly from last year. It's a good thing we did, because we decided to make MORE changes. We extended our shade tube by 6 feet and now using a sun blocking tarp as an endwall. A second sunblocking tarp will be mounted over the tent to give darker shade so we can sleep in longer.

Found the missing rebar stakes in a bin in the garage, now we don't have to cut more!

Bought rope, military surplus tent pegs, zip ties, and bungee hooks.

Mounted my horn on my bike.

Last tent set up and cleanup with the "shade" over it. With enough stakes I should be good. Tent poles packed. Stake counting and packing tonight.

First bag almost packed. Turns out weight isn't the issue with my bags but volume. It's like a game of tetris getting everything in there, but I will make it work.

Oh! And I got something else this weekend. Aunt Flo came to visit so no worries about a surprise visit on the playa!

More tie dye last night...can't wait to check out the finished products tonight. :)

VultureChow - My aunt Flo has decided to be late...so now I'm worried about a surprise visit myself. :(

Installed grommets in our sign and 1 of our 5 ground cover canvas tarps. Nagged my girlfriend to finish painting our camp sign.

Take supplies to tend to Aunt Flo anyway .... she can pop up even after a mere two weeks if your body becomes stressed.

Not sure why this month is being funny...hasn't happened in so long I can't even remember. :|

I wish I could have menopause On Demand. Like right now thank you.

Let's see, Larry did the final sort on the solar lights and personal blinkies, got the catchall tote packed, and we sorted the boot box. The boot box pretty much stays packed all year though.....

LOL, PIehole, I see we've met.

Last year I was supposed to be in the clear. Nope. And I had inadequate supplies, some, but not enough. Someone always does, so it wasn't a huge problem, but it was a bummer. Burning Man always throws me off.

It didn't get me any closer to preparation...but I installed OpenWRT on a Linksys router and created a new uhttpd instance, set the index and error pages to the same thing, and told dnsmasq to resolve all URLs to the router IP address. Set it to toggle the DMZ LED and soldered on some wires to trigger an external device.

If that was Greek, this is the result: it's a small standalone box that only requires 12VDC. It will show up as an unsecured free wifi access point. However, ANY website they try to access will be replaced by the message and image of my choice...for now, trollface. I'll also hear a beep so I know someone got trolled.

HAHAHA they were talking about this on reddit the other day. So funny.

Apparently a camp last year even went as far as posting a sign that said "free wifi"

Got the treasure chest which holds our bike cooler cleaned up. Big wooden treasure chest keeps our cooler out of the direct sun as we pedal around. Originally a pirate chest with pearls and fish, then it got painted white with blue gems, then green for green man. Acquired stickers, some of which finally began to peel away. I saved some, peeled and tossed the faded torn ones, put on some new ones, and applied new paint in the marbled design. About time, poor old thing hadn't been given a facelift since 07.

Repaired burned out light string in Mr.'s coat, rode our bikes yesterday (to break in butts), had a group of folks try on all the costumes and decided the problem was not the costumes but the name so now...a new name:

"Lahontan Memories" The Playa is what used to be lake Lahontan in prehistoric times. Here is a photo of the group test:

Those costumes are so beautiful!

Contacted my ebay seller again, because the missing LED strip pieces I complained about exactly a month ago have still not arrived. They told me to wait 5 more days. I leave on the 21st :( . I want a colourful blinky fur collar on my coat...
