One Item for BM a Day (2010-2012)
Re: One Item for BM a Day
Went to a friends and learned how to solder El wire. Half way done sewing some on my warmie green coat. Received my battery op LED lights (and they work great!). Went to Fry's and bought a huge brick of AA's batteries for the LED's and my bike glow lights. Later today I plan on breaking out the sander and working on the bed platform so we don't get splinters.
Shopping list is written. I plan on picking up all food stuffs here in Santa Cruz so the only thing we will need to buy in Reno is water. And fill up the gas tank of course.
I can't believe we leave next Monday. Wow.

Got the suitcases 95% packed.

Bought a 7" cutoff wheel ($3) and cut up 80 feet of rebar. Frightened the neighbors with showers of pretty sparks.
Cleaned out the collapsible water jugs and the cooler.

Loaded all the non-essentials, adult beverages, most of the food, and hardware in the trailer.
Now all that's left is a few t-shirts, shorts, and the orange vest to wear and the propane and fire toys!
Oh yeah. The 111 Keep Burning Man Fatal t-shirts as well...

Everything is in Plastic totes except the 10' EMT. All I need now is to go get dry ice Friday after work and i'm outta here Saturday morning, only 5 hours to Reno but we are making a road trip of it.

Finished decorating the Burncycle. Fabric basket liner, fuzzy seat cover, fuzzy handlebar covers and the best part is it's all designed to come off and on so I can pack it away and re-attach it on playa. The lights will be zip-tied on when I get there as well.
Also am about 25% done the final pack.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Hey All....
REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR TICKETS!
I just thought someone should say it around now.
Popped up the trailer and did an inventory, removing anything that isn't essential. Also making sure not to have too many extras of things because I'm one of those people everyone assumes they can borrow shit from...instead of being self-reliant. I'm taking a pass on babysitting this year!
We went for another bike ride and DUH! Realized how much more comfortable the bikes are with the handlebars higher!
Repaired holes in the ice chest insulation blanket covers with duct tape, loaded up the beverage cooler for icing later & designated a food only/dry ice cooler.
Best of all, I am now sharing the task of cooking dinner for camp with someone who's more experienced, WHEW!
Tomorrow, back to the water costumes! Tick, tick, tick....yikes!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Buying, buying, buying. Packing, packing, packing.
Bought:
Baby wipes, goldfish, cheezies, pita chips, lotion, a new dual electric/propane powered food cooler as ours broke DAYS AGO, shelf stable starbucks frappuccino drinks, another tote box to hold food, 2 pairs of knee-high socks, a sweet shirt/dress full of decoratively shaped holes, a pair of zigzag blue tights for the hubby, high SPF face cream, hanging solar lights and garden lights on stakes for decorating the front of camp....
Packed:
All of the camp decoration lights and rebar covers (rubber duckies
), all of the costumes, all of the meal kit/cooking gear, all of the first aid supplies, all shelf stable foods, blinkies, wigs, goggles, TONS of socks, and all camp shelter supplies and pieces. Only things left are toiletries and defaultia clothing.
Doing:
Covering the waist of my skirt with ribbon to neaten up the edge, charging a mountain of batteries and the air mattress pump, many loads of laundry, scrambling to finish work tasks before I leave for two weeks, and fixing a pair of goggles (I nearly crazy glued my finger to them, ouch!)
We leave in 2 sleeps!

Still painting, got the Eddie vest for genius 99% finished, need to touch up my ascot, need to start packing the art in stead of stacking it.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
took a break from unpacking the new house yesterday and did a little fun shopping. A theater group from Tahoe was having a costume sale so my daughter and I picked up: 2 lobster head & claws costume, striped socks, 1 wolf costume and a kings crown.
Then we went to Prism Magic, a groovy burner store out in Sparks and picked up; leggings for both of us, glow in the dark make-up, suede tank top for her, led hair clips, ruffle panties and a dragon costume...
YAY. Had a good time and now I must stop spending money on "fluff"

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I recently got one of those and just ordered a couple different adapter things. I also got some PVC so i can make a boom to mount it out of a back pack and i can hopefully craft another to get it higher off the bike. have you had it out there before?SquirrelHead wrote:I picked up a emergency weather/radio that uses solar, battery, and hand crank or clearance plus a bunch of stuff for my GoPro.
Ordered another soar LED string after being pretty satisfied with the the other one I already got. Got a solar controller and a few other things to help with the power/battery stuff i'm going to try out there.
prioritized my to do list so i can can really focus on what needs to be done.
Less than a week till i'm there!!! so anxious/excited!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
I found my box of underwire bras, including many shiny, velvety ones I used to wear one the playa ... I haven't been able to wear them since the lempectomy as the underwires touch the scar. So I tried them on, and the wire doesn't bother me!!!!!! They are a band size up from what I wear now, I've lost weight, but they still fit nicely. A black velvet bra! A velvet leopard bra! A shiny gold bra! An embroidered bra! See-through bras! My beaded bra! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: One Item for BM a Day
Ordered another set of lights to hopefully offset the ones that came in that won't turn on since it is highly unlikely that the replacements from the seller will arrive in time...
Also ordered some small masks to use with our shemaghs for those times where we might get stranded somewhere deep in playa.
making to do list so I remember all the things I still haven't done...sigh

I really want a wide cherry red mohawk of my own right now. It suits my skin tone.
Not very versatile though (I can't even commit to a tattoo).

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Majorly happy with my thrift store purchases today! I found the last piece to a costume I am putting together for a lap dance I am doing for my boyfriend. It's his bday on Wednesday and he is getting a special surprise! Plus a wide brimmed packable hat with tie, a hanging fruit basket, a pair of low rise uggs to bum around in, and a 12 egg camping container. Super stoked. Also talked to a new burner about his ezup purchase and how to strap that sucker down so it doesn't blow into other peoples stuff.
It's all coming together so nicely.
I leave in a week! Yeeeeeeeeeeee!
