Ashes, Dust, and Stones

Postby goathead » Mon Aug 20, 2012 8:45 am

I make small stones from playa dust, the ashes of loved ones, and sunlight.
With a large Fresnel lens.
Still part of the HomeBrew4AHomeBrew camp
You will find us at Inner Circle @ 2:30
Across the street from Center Camp.
It might be challenging to make these with the playa conditions.
Early morning seems to be about the best time.

From years past
New thread, for a new year of waiting, for next year, and HOME again.

It was a beautiful day today, and I was able to make some more stones for another burner.

From last year.

I was given the chance to do something special today for a burner.

I melt playa dust with a big fresnel lens into small rocks that resemble Indian teardrops.

Today I mixed some ashes into the playa dust and made her a small stone.

If you are bringing out some ashes to the temple or to scatter and would like to stop by and have a small stone made with some ash and playa dust please stop by.

Just a very small pinch of ash is all I need.

I am part of the HomeBrew4AHomebrew camp.
goathead is also my playa name.

Thank you for allowing me the chance to do something for you.

Wow, those look kinda like Apache Tears, which are obsidian-like stones created when lightning hits the ground.
Peace,
Jorge

This is simply awesome.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

Goathead,
I still treasure the stones you made for me last year,
though one disappeared on the Playa...
the other I admire every day!

This year, I will meet you in person...
the one time I actually made it to Homebrew,
you were somewhere else.
I'm on my own this year, and will haunt the place until you're there.

Thank you again for the memento!
See you SOON!!
