Crickets are boring so less eplaya time (sorry to those in Camp Envy) and spam fests are no fun. Now I can focus more energy on my panic packing!

Can someone stop the creation of new accounts the week before burning man? Seems like that would cut down on some of this crap spam.

Can someone stop the creation of new accounts the week before burning man? Seems like that would cut down on some of this crap spam.

As others have commented elsewhere, that would have 2 problems:
1) Many of the spammers apparently have sleeper accounts that they create ahead of time, so it wouldnt stop them
2) Lots of people create last minute accounts so they can sell/buy last minute tickets, so that'd be a big problem for them.

I have never done that, I might give that a try this year.

I did this several years ago - it was pretty fun in the IRC channel the night of the burn. Well, better than a sharp stick in the eye, anyhow.
