I missed many performances : Any recommendations for next?

Post by dav725 » Tue Sep 09, 2003 1:32 pm

Yeah, my first year at BM and it was awesome. But it was tricky still trying to figure out what was playing where or when or who...or where the fuck it was. So I feel like I missed out on some awesome stuff. Here's a couple of questions I'm sending out the regulars...

1. How do you find out about most of the performances? I read the book of events like it was a bible and still didn't catch a lot.

2. Is there anything that people would definitely recommend (assuming that the performance/music/party happens next year

3. Yeah, Xara was BEAUTIFUL. So, no question, but my heartfelt thanks to those who made it hapen.

4. Do people ever do performance stuff...like short plays or anything? (something I'm interested in doing).

THANKS!

Dav,

We will be trying to host more plays and the like next year at Euphoria. We should stay in contact throughout the year.

Burning Man Audio Gallery

I know the feeling - you just can't possibly get to it all! After getting really frustrated with that feeling, I decided to do what I can to help others like me... so I'm putting together an audio gallery of as many sets/performances as can be gathered. This year was the trial run and a learning experience, with many improvements coming for next year. I'm just in the stages of gathering back in the recordings. I'll post more info when I get the site up and running, so stay tuned!

See as many as you can. Thank the DJ/band and especially the host camp. Don't worry about what you will miss, that's a waste of time. Concentrate on what you are seeing.

That's Burning Man...I regret missing stuff, although I haven't the faintest idea of what exactly I've missed except that it's probably better than most of what I could see or hear just about anywhere else. And Localized Cloaking Phenomenon allows you to walk right by GIGANTIC vehicles, artworks- even whole parties- without them registering. Sometimes biking or walking off at a random vector helps.
