We are a group of burners in the bay area/marin who are having some trouble getting our shade structure(s) to the playa. We have a 10x20 carport that disassembles into individual poles, the longest of which is probably around 6'3. The poles don't take up a lot of volume but they are just too long to fit in our sedan, and our friend whose truck we were planning on taking had to sell his ticket because of a new job. If anyone has a pickup truck or a van or an RV or anything that is long enough to fit our poles, we would be eternally grateful to you for saving us from baking all week under the hot playa sun. Please let me know!
Thanks,
Yan

Put a Thule or Yakima rack on your sedan. Heck, you don't even need a rack, just ratchet straps.

I'm bringing my monkey hut prefab in my ford focus, the rib pieces being 10' long. have you tried putting them in your car? We're sacrificing a bit of comfort on the journey for comfort when we get there, but then, we're leaving from reno.

It wouldn't be Burning Man without explosive luggage failures along every roadside.
