The answer to the burning question: What is "it"?
OK, so what is "it"? That crazy shit. This Burning Man thing. What does it all mean?
OK-OK, I'll tell you ... (Why? ---Why not?? Ohhhh, so you think your post was worth reading??!?) ... one sec ... all right ... ohhh, won't you rhyme with me?
The "it" is:
>The fluffy stuff in your dreams, the white stuff in your creams, the feeling you get for the girl you keen, it's the vinegar you get when you're feeling mean, it's the energy in Popeye's steam, it's the playa that ain't so clean, your jackass preppy cousin Dean, it's like that orgasm you get when you have to scream, the "I" in you that ain't part of team, it's the smarts that let you scheme, the laser in the beam, the Islam in Kareem, the judge who is supreme, that fat fish upstream, the Saddam who no longer has a regime, the crash and burn and broken spleen, it's the music of life's theme.<
All right then, I'm ready for Happy Hour.

I coulda sworn ...
This *this* was going to be the post that took me to the Promised Land of 1,000 views, 60 or so responses and maybe that star thing.
It seemingly had so much going for it, yet, in retrospect, so little.
... acchh, back to sonovbitch drawing board.

Did I just get immortalized in some kind of fucked-up def poetry or was that a general comment about supreme court judges? Not really sure.burning tent wrote: >The fluffy stuff in your dreams, the white stuff in your creams, the feeling you get for the girl you keen, it's the vinegar you get when you're feeling mean, it's the energy in Popeye's steam, it's the playa that ain't so clean, your jackass preppy cousin Dean, it's like that orgasm you get when you have to scream, the "I" in you that ain't part of team, it's the smarts that let you scheme, the laser in the beam, the Islam in Kareem, the judge who is supreme, that fat fish upstream, the Saddam who no longer has a regime, the crash and burn and broken spleen, it's the music of life's theme.

All meaning is arbetrary anyway... connect a symbol to it, and all you have is the symbol. The thing is the thing. Experience it, don't experience it, it remains the same. If it is simply the symbolic representation (written or verbalized memory) you have reduced the thing in your perception.
It simply is....

Huh ... that's kind of existential. I'm under the impression though that "it" is not staying the same, rather it is constantly in flux.samtzu wrote:All meaning is arbitrary anyway... connect a symbol to it, and all you have is the symbol.
