The Satellite Photo

Working on the higher rez version, but it's over a gig in size! Due to clouds there were pics on the 30th and 31st of Aug. Here's a teaser, but I have to go to work. (this pic is from the 31st)
I'll be doing the super duper high res moop maps again this year off these.

so, any ideas about the arrangement of containers in the lower right, a bit to the east of gate and west of dpw? .... spells "INSANE" .... at the end of 5:30 road

Hrm.

The GeoEye sat photo was supposed to be at Aug 31st. That's dated the 30th and has all the CORE effigies.

So hopefully more to come?

Hmmm... This feels like the near future. Any news on the uber photo? Couldnt find anything better on Google than the 2 posted on Eplaya.

Sorry, the Gate is not in that picture. What you see is the Greeter's station(s).

Is that not an apt description of burners in general??

I spoke to some folks at GeoEye this week, and that shot is unfortunately as high-resolution as we get this year. The 2012 pass was done with the venerable IKONOS satellite, which doesn't have as good a camera on board as the one from last year.

Dammit Bill, next year I want daily satellite passes for a 2 week window starting the Wednesday before the event opens!

Wondering the same. The hi-res pic from the other thread looks like its not happening, but Fiver did mention he had a 1 gig copy. Maybe set up a bittorrent for it or something?

I'm giving this thread a merge with the other. According to the awesome people at GeoEye, there is no higher resolution image available than the one they published. That's because this year's pass took place using the older IKONOS satellite, which doesn't have a higher resolution camera.
