So - It's a crying shame that the DMV doesn't publish its database of photos of approved mutant vehicles. Even better would be a full blog letting the builders share their post-mortem boasts and horror stories, from which we all could learn.
As a builder, I hope someday (soon) someone will see fit to set that up.
Meantime, I'm COMPLETELY OBSESSED with finding out more about this stunning vehicle. Sweaty-palmed caffeine-fueled googling bore no results. Can anyone point me to a web site, build log or even a name for this mad bastard child of H.R. Giger and the Tumbler Batmobile?

And while I'm at it, what jiggery-pokery do I need to use to get my damn image calls to work on ePlaya?

I spent at least an hour drooling over this MV. I have spent a lot of time trying to find info on it. In my 9 years on the playa I have never seen anything that could hold a candle to this car. Please, if you have any info on this car, e-mail me at danglerucy@yahoo.com

I believe that MV was called Fusion, made by one of the guys from Soul in the Machine. They're on Facebook

That makes complete sense. SoiM is freakin' awesome. People who have never heard of them should look them up. Did they play on the playa this year?

It was at 3:45-ish and C, the Guys were kind of assholes when I tried talking to them about it so I didn't get any information and just kept walking. Would love to hear more about it though, Looked kinda like a extended Rock Crawler.
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

Eh, sorry to hear that. People get busy, dusty, addled, careless, whatever. Maybe a bad night, maybe they're jerks. But it's still a monster.
I doubt this'll bring 'em out of the woodwork, but XyloVan just awarded Fusion our little-known, totally worthless but nonetheless heartfelt and deserved Mutant Vehicle of the Year Award</a> for 2012:
