(speaking to no one in particular); So is the phrase " fact of the mater" a republican thing that makes illusion to " mater of fact" like in "common" as in "common man", suggesting that the speaker is a just plain Joe average kind of guy? I've heard a number of republicans us it in sort of a dismissive yet populist kind of way. Cheney sure used it a lot.

Isn't it field burning season? I definitely do not miss the smell of burning grass and the haze associated with it.

We have that kind of haze hear in Portland too. But Humboldt area is definitely in the know.
