tpbm relishes raking Fall leaves so they can make a huge pile and jump in them!

Not so much to jump in them, but for nostalgia.
When I was an older kid, 13 to 15 years old, I'd detasil corn all summer in Nebraska, then get back to Denver just in time for fall. So, I'd go around the neighborhood cleaning up leaves as my Fall job.
Driving through my old neighborhood seeing all the leaves gets me all nostalgic.

TPBM wishes they could get by do their old 'childhood' jobs for a living.

Technically, I could (and have). I was lifeguarding and swim instructing by 16, and it's a survivable wage (I got recertified as an adult and used it to supplement another job 2003-2008). But I would also be willing to work as a witch OR a princess, which were my other childhood jobs (other than berry-picking and babysitting). I kinda miss teaching swimming sometimes.

The person below me had a paper route, and (hopefully) at least one weird story about what happens when you travel a suburban neighborhood that early in the morning.

I never had a paper route, but my brother did. He was sick one day and my mom and I took over the route for him. We did fine until we got to the apartment complex...I was 7 or 8 and I was thanked many times for the "free" newspaper. From that point on, my brother did it himself, sick or not!
