Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Mornin' campers!
Well, in about 2 1/2 hours Yggy and I will be hoisting a cold brew or three at the Auburn Alehaus in old town Auburn, CA. Our (sort of) monthly "What we do every month Pinky, plan to take over the world" meeting. You have been warned!

Hia Bar Peeps!
was two weeks traveling from the Bay to Seattle. Was lots of fun. The Coast had some of the nicest weather; clear skies and little breeze, the rides could have been longer but the folks who picked me up were really nice locals, many of whom took me home and fed me and set me back out on the road at a good place to hitch. one problem with hitching on the CA-1 coadt high wy is where ever you are droped off that is where you are stuck hitching from; way too curvy and no sholder to walk down the road to a better spot.
While in Oregon I visited with my Doggy's parents(human ones) and visited his fathers grave (Goonie Sr. 1999 - 2008 R.I.P.) had Salmon and a nice mead, Fall in the nothwest! I then Visited a Campmate in Olympia; got stuck there for 3 days because here in WA one can't hitch on the on ramps. gerr. so finaqly took the bus. also blah.
ok the cool part was getting back with my Dog, looking forward to a few weeks of solitude in the woods.
Cheers!

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Glad to hear you made it back safe (and had fun along the way), it was good meeting you on the playa!
Happy bday, bbd! Seems crazy that the Bond film franchise is 50, but good to see that Skyfall's finally going to see the light of day. Cheers to Doc & Yggy - I know I'm late, but chances are you may still be tossing them back.
Meanwhile we're heading into an action-packed weekend alright. Even the assorted infographic pics I've seen pasted on peoples' FB walls seems to all be leaving out at least an event or two. It'll be a mess for driving for sure, but there's a chance things might actually work out in the mass transit department. All the events are scattered around town, so the system shouldn't be too crushed (like it would if all 1 million plus people would be going to the same spot). Nevertheless, we're planning on taking a little extra time to get around, and are expecting that it will be a madhouse at the farmer's market tomorrow. For those coming to SF decom, hope to see you Sunday!

Morning all! Thumps ECM... coffee coffee coffee
I picked up a six pack of Shiner Redbird, a summer seasonal beer. I don't like beer, but this one is grapefruity with a strong ginger afterbite. So a bit in a glass over ice with the Black Captain... oh my, yes.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
All together now:
We're Knights of the Round Table
We dance whene'er we're able
We do routines and chorus scenes
With footwork impeccable
We dine well here in Camelot
We eat ham and jam and Spam a lot
We're Knights of the Round Table
Our shows are formidable
But many times we're given rhymes
That are quite unsingable
We're opera-mad in Camelot
We sing from the diaphragm a lot
In war we're tough and able
Quite indefatigable
Between our quests, we sequin vests
And impersonate Clark Gable
It's a busy life in Camelot
I have to push the pram a lot

I found this to be interesting and just rediscovered it.

Something I would add is that you can tell what your relationship to a person is based on how comfortable you are with their proximity to you.
If someone is approching you, at what point do you start to feel uncomfortable?
This would determine if they were a public, social, personal, or intimate aquantance.

I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay,
I sleep all night and I work all day.
Chorus: He's a lumberjack and he's okay,
He sleeps all night and he works all day.
I cut down trees, I eat my lunch,
I go to the lavatory.
On Wednesdays I go shopping
And hav

I cut down trees, I skip and jump,
I like to press wild flowers.
I put on women's clothing,
And hang around in bars.

OK class, take your seats and settle down..
Put away your psych books, this is science class.
Now, today we are going to learn about pressure differential condensation. Did everyone look at Bob's movie that he brought in.. Good..
OK, can anyone tell me why the cloud formed behind the jet? .. anyone..
YGMIR!! put that distillation coil back where you found it!
OK.. anyone?!
Alright, when the jet swoops down, and then pulls g's it emphasizes the low pressure above the wing needed for lift, and this lowered air pressure results in the air temperature in the immediate vicinity being reduced.
*notices Simon sneaking in late and gives him the evil eye*
Now, if conditions are right, this lowered temperature causes water vapor to condense out, forming a short lived 'cloud' that you see here.. or some such bullshit..
HEY! Did I say you people could light the bunsen burners!
now class.. CLASS!..
*storms out, resigns teaching position, and wanders off into the woods..

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
*takes vacant podium*
Actually I think I Judge my relationships and the level of intimacy by the velocity and vector of their passing.
let me explain via example:
I See someone I think I love, walking away to the bar. my reaction: watching and eagerly waiting for their return.
I See a loved one get on an train leaving. my reaction: Sad, possibly despondent and abandoned.
I see a hawt prospect walking toward me. my reaction: slightly nervous, dammit Bunny, please don't say something dumb.
Then there is what I call the Orbit: when the pull of ones attraction is equal in all and a path of continual proximity is established. till some Rouge planet comes out of nowhere and smashes through the place.
and then I see some one I dislike leaving: Relief.
Someone I Despise falling away: Apathy.
The opposite of love is not hate. it is apathy. like love, hate occupies the mind, is opposite side of the same coin. apathy is to be not in the mind.
Actually I think I Judge my relationships and the level of intimacy by the velocity and vector of their passing.
let me explain via example:
