Ok, it took some doing. First I started out with an actual report about my experiences at Alchemy but the tone was all wrong. So I cooled my heels and did a total re-write.

Hi Thor!! good to see ya poppin back in.

dang, I'm gettin old.......stiff and sore this morning from working on the Hof.
And, my friends even talked me into a few safety procedures while we were working.....which is always stressful. hahaha

So, who's got a good cure for mice?
Seems they are in my camp trailer up there.....not super bad, but you can tell they've been there......and I'm sure with winter approaching, they'll be looking for a home.
I'know to go around looking for ways in, but realistically, it seems impossible to find all the places they get in.
I'm hoping getting the doors and windows done and sealed, will cure the issue in the Hof...

Use the little mouse catchers where they crawl in and don't crawl back out. Poison just poisons other animals who'd eat the dead mice. Poor little bastards.

yeah it's a tough call.........I made one experimental trap, a bucket with water and a stick, that it seems they crawl up, and fall in the bucket, but the water keeps them from jumping out. Thing is, you gotta wonder how long that'd work for.
I'm thinking of dousing with bleach under all cabinets and such, hoping the smell will last a long time, and maybe scare them away?

Ygmir, good chance these "mice" (and at the Hof they are not domestic mice) may be carrying hantavirus. Do not sweep the dust, or if you do, wear a dust mask! That's how people catch that crap.

Rodents like enclosed spaces like the Hof because they can avoid primary predators like hawks, owls and bobcats.

yeah, that's the thing: If I can figure a way, to just get them to not be there........it'd be great.
and, since the place sits, once the snow falls (until I can afford a snow machine), for up to 6 months, I don't want this huge population living there, since they do carry pathogens (as Dougly points out).
so, there's my dilemma, I suppose.
I'd rather not kill
but I also don't want what goes along with their presence.
I'll work towards none lethal, but ultimately, may end up there.

I lived in the country, and I've seen mice drowned in buckets. It wasn't even "experimental" it was accidental. Leave a bucket over night, and...

Also, you don't want mice in your trailer, because you don't want one to die in the walls.

i use those gluey traps and the bodies are usually dried up and shriveled before i find them weeks later so i don't have to deal with the smell.

And just for posterity's sake these are the two acrylic works I did while at Alchemy. Never used that medium for this before, so I was just pushing paint around and seeing how it behaved. Both were placed under the Gifting Tree, neither stayed longer than fifteen minutes. The first was Friday, the second was Burnday. I have since found that there is both an extender I could get for more work time and a gloss/transparency medium; my main problem in camp was the paint dried almost as fast as I could put it on the panels. I was expecting a quick dry time but that was a lot faster than I was ready for.

Lovely paintings, Thor. I can see why they flew away from under the gifting tree. I work exclusively in acrylics, oils and the clean up aggravate my asthma. I love the cold water clean up... and yes, I've learned to work very fast, or in layers. I have the gels and mediums, but am not used to a slow dry time and I find I fuss too much if the painting stay son the easel too long. Since I paint on my kitchen I need to be able to clear it out fast.
