Re: Virgin
Hi and welcome to ePlaya! Feel free to read the wealth of information, tips, and personal stories about the event that have already been posted here on the boards or on the main site.
Re: Virgin
Hi Camdino!
The Preparation forum is about to be your best friend:
http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewforum.php?f=275
The Experiences at Burning Man forum is here--but people are talking about their experiences all over the place, quite honestly:
http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewforum.php?f=69
Meet other Europeans who go to the Burn--they know lots.
Eastern Europe:
http://regionals.burningman.com/eu_eu.html
All-Europe list:
http://regionals.burningman.com/eu_index.html
Other than that, read the Survival Guide linked below . . . it has a lot of really good info, and the beginning of a pack list.
Welcome to the board.

Re: Virgin
Thank you so much Savannah! I plan on going to 2013 this all is very good information. How many people did you go with the first time?
Re: Virgin
I traveled with 19 other people, in perhaps 5 different vehicles. I only knew one of the people I traveled with, and just barely!
We were not a theme camp, just a camp-camp.

Hey Camino,
Welcome to eplaya!
Good job getting your preparations and planning started early!
Traveling from over seas adds a whole new level of planning. If you look around the thread there is a bunch of information on exactly that issue.
I'd take a look at a thread thats all about using a rented Box Truck for your transportation and your shelter

Ah, you were a theme camp; unplaced and not even knowing you were a theme camp. And you thought all those people asking for booze were just random.Savannah wrote:I traveled with 19 other people, in perhaps 5 different vehicles. I only knew one of the people I traveled with, and just barely!![]()

Re: Virgin
Yeah I live in Texas. But my culture is Bosnian. I would love to hear more about the Burning man and if it would be smarter to fly and rent a vechile?
Re: Virgin
Oh, you're IN Texas.
Like, right now. Well, join the Texas mailing lists; dig around in the Texas regional area of the Burning Man site. There are lots of Texas Burners, and they have regional events!
If you drive, you can bring a lot more supplies, pack more carefully and thoroughly, and keep the items more easily when you're done. (If you fly in and buy stuff, when you're done, you either have to donate it, trash it, recycle it, ship it, or somehow take it home.) If it's possible to drive your first time, that might be easier on you in a number of ways. However, gas can add up, and not everyone drives, or likes driving, and a long drive can be very tiring and time-consuming, especially when the Burn is over. You'll have to think about whether you have a car that make it, or whether a 2nd driver to split gas and driving with you would be ideal.
If you decide to fly, the transportation Forum has a good thread for you.
