Congratulations piehole!! How exciting!
Sometimes I'm confused by what I think is really obvious. But what I think is really obvious obviously isn't obvious.

No kiddin!! That's great!! What was the winning dish, or was it an over-all competition?

It was an overall competition but the award that we won holds the most clout apparently.
We won 1st place in Best Judged Entree, which was our New York Sirloin.
There were other awards for best booth design, best dessert and kids choice.
edit:
my roommate corrected me, the dish was a NY Prime Sirloin with a peppercorn au poivre and lobster mushroom risotto

Hahaha! Maybe next year we'll do our peach cobbler for the dessert.
Our dessert this year was this caramel brie something.
I wasn't at the event myself and my roomie is GMing right now or I'd get the full scoop

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
Been a while sense I have been on eplaya so thought I would share my happies for past month
found a salon opening here in town and am now just waiting to hear back. Need to have two jobs this year to do the camp Tom and I are planning out for 2013. Tom moved to Iowa things are just as magical as on the playa. He has a big job interview tomm I'm so hoping he gets it
ummm I now have a 7 foot burning man replica in my livingroom makes a awesome nightlight/lamp! I get to go see bassnectar on the 3rd it is going to be a blast!! Did not get enough dancing in on the playa so going to hopefully get my fix then! On a newer note the debates were awesome tonight and made me happy. Only thing that would have topped it if the mod gave them both a pair of boxing gloves and let them fight it out or when Obama when he got done with his last statement just said " I'm done" and dropped the mic on the ground and left. Lol damn politeness!

Phew Doc! Glad to hear it.

BloodBath&Beyond has to have some credibility, right? Anyways..the positions in shipping. So my available weapon would have to be a forklift or shrink wrap.

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
Life is so very good! I love having my own place, and it's peaceful and quiet. I've had a few changes in my life, that are very good. I Got my haircut short and I'm still getting use to it. My hair has this natural wave thing going on and my hair is it laying flat and smooth like I thought it might. So I put a little root lifter in it finger dry it, and just wear it natural.

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
Yay MA!!! So glad you have a peaceful place to call your own
Thanksgiving came early this year!
YGGY drove thru PDX today so we had a late lunch a Hooters.
I love their deep fried dill pickle chips.
Good thing I always keep a bottle of Tabasco sauce in my pocket as they don't have any there...
Great to see you, Yig!

Re: Time for a Happy Thread
Though I cannot talk due to laryngitis I can type, I am gonna be busy tomorrow so here goes: I am thankful for my wonderful supportive family who always have my back, for the love of my life who every day tries to be a little better for me even when I am not at my best, for the most adorable loving clever stepson (who got straight B's on his report card!), for a home of our own, for friends who let me know they care even when I am out of touch. I am so very thankful for every one of you. Happy Thanksgiving Day! Be safe, be sound, and know you are loved.
