Re: The Bar, Volume #4
poor Marty!! having to attend an erotic event with 3 women........how you suffer for your friends. what a saint!
well, back to the Hof tomorrow to weld and caulk.........no helper, so it'll be slow.
but you can tell a storm is blowing in..........I saw lots of critters harvesting, and saw several raptors hunting.
they're calling for a foot or so...........and well, either it falls and melts, or, I don't see the Hof till April........

Morning all. Early rising today as I have to go help set up our fundraising event-Pumpkinpalooza! Gonna be a loooong day. I'm in charge of carnival games.
Since Wednesday I and a group of 4 others have carved around 250 pumpkins...
Orange used to be my favorite color.
Have a good day all.

Good morning, Lucky! So wonderful of you to do all that.
I hope you have fun today.
*starts ECM*
I slept for nine hours last night, feeling much better today, waiting to hear how Marty's event went last night and whether Yggy will get be able to seal those windows and etc up at the Hof.
*slides into the NEB to wait*

Wow Lucky... I think at the end of that many pumpkins, I would have perfected a mute cyclops character.
Good sleep, MDF. I'd commit to a hof work weekend, ygmir, if the weather gods allow.
Now some coffee. Bike ride today.

ah, sweet coffee,..........elixer if cognition and motivation. Thanks MDF!
It's gonna be close on sealing......I had to leave the doors open, last night up there, due to wet pain on the casings......but had to paint the casings, because if this week does close it down for the season, they'd sit, raw wood, all winter.
Heading back up today, to weld some closure points up, pack concrete under door sills, and hopefully final seal against vermin over the winter.
I do fear, though, my travel trailer may end up a sacrifice to the weather Skadi and Njord. I need a super full day with probably 3 people, to build a snow protection cover, and that'd be if everyone knew what to do, and nothing went wrong........more like 3 days in reality, to do it right.
so, i'm really hoping the foot or more (as they are predicting) of snow, comes, sits and melts, before "big winter" sets in, and I can get up there again. A foot is not worry.......8' of snow though, would probably crush the poor old trailer.
I don't have the option to pull it out of where it is. I had to get it in there with my bobcat (tractor).
have a fun day 420!! haha Elorrum got it right, "mute cyclops".......haha "carving pumpkins with a roch pick"...
Thanks Elorrum.......I'd love to try for a work weekend in spring, when it opens back up....for now I think I've lost the season......but who knows?
Glad to hear ya gettin some rest, MDF. you work so dang hard, professionally and family wise.

Can't you cover the trailer with tarp(s), until you get the chance to work on it?ygmir wrote: I do fear, though, my travel trailer may end up a sacrifice to the weather Skadi and Njord. Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Masque Erotica was quite an extraordinary event! Costumes were beyond anything I've ever seen. Bodacious, beautiful, creative, erotic, quixotic, and just downright beautiful. There was non stop entertainment on a number of stages with dance, pole dance, music and what not. In addition enactment of various erotic entanglements for the voyeur within us all. Very happy that I had the chance to go to this. I'd give it 5 stars.

*shuffles in*
dang long day up there.......didn't get as much as I had hoped......dang it. got snowed on, and only set a small patch of grass and one pant leg on fire!
it's funny the decision making one does when seeing the grass below ( small spot, no danger of it spreading) from up 10' on a ladder, welding stick in hand, on fire, and realizing the smell is not just grass burning, but your pant leg.......
"quick down the ladder!*
and yeah.......a pole barn/cover is the only option, really.
it's not unusual to get 100 mph winds in bad storms up there (5800' el.) and on a rock outcropping at a cliff, so no wind breaks.
tarps just don't stand up to it.
if it's not super solid, the wind and snow will shred most anything.

I didn't know all of that. Thanks. It was interesting to discover the jokes and stereotypes believed in the west (at least through my own rearing) of the Poles being hopelessly inept or backward were likely political propaganda (perhaps my own revelation) by Poland's neighbors that felt threatened by the new ideas. The only hint of which was the comment "Poles did not charge tanks with sabers" while showing footage of heavy cannon being set up. I will look forward to finding more Polish history that I was conveniently not taught in school.theCryptofishist wrote:Rousing music, historic fact(oids?), and pretty pictures...

I've lost count of the number of times someone has set themselves, someone else, or something on fire while welding. You're behind an opaque shield with limited vision which encourages focus on the task at hand and the periphery is all but shut out. Or even the "ow, that's getting hot, but I only have *one* more inch to go and I'm done."ygmir wrote:*shuffles in*

MMmm, polish welding fire coffee with art and fish.....
We are on a valley floor and yet we are buttoning up the yard already too. Should see snow this week, but it won't stick. Our maple has barely begin turning, so if we get early snow, we will lose branches again. Been so warm I still have live, healthy summer plants in the porch containers, I'm thinking of cramming them all in one and bring them indoors for the winter. They're annuals (geraniums and dahlias and such), will they make it inside in lower light? I have to get it done today or not at all.

G'morning,
Anti, the geraniums will definitely be OK inside over the winter. the dahlias, though, should be dug up and put in a cool, dry place with some perlite or sawdust until next spring. the bulbs can survive a frost, but not a hard freeze. i'm still new at this, but here's a link: http://www.thegardenhelper.com/dahlia.html
it's monday ...... too busy to make something!

hope everyone has a great day!

Started out bold tonight. The vermillion was on the canvas first, a brilliant curl. I'm just using up some old crappy paint tonight.
