Happy Birthday, Yggie!
The margarita adventure reminds me of being offered a margarita one night my first year.
It was the wonderful folks in Tripley's Museum.
I hadn't had much sleep and I knew I didn't have any extra energy, but I couldn't resist, and it was marvelous.
I was going for a short nap.
I woke up the next morning.
I asked them what they put in the margarita.
The answer:
EVERYTHING!

Or, simply chase it with what ever soda or juice you have in the fridge.

I don't know if bacon will even buy good comrades, but it could compel a clique to smile and gossip behind your back, at least until you ran out of bacon.
Always a crowd pleaser though.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
There is a Pennsic story that comes to mind. A woman was camped along a stretch of road the Tuchux walked from their encampment to the battlefield. She felt rather intimidated by the group but had it on good authority that they could be appeased with appropriate offerings. So she cooked up several pounds of bacon and took her poor little rickety table and set it out for them a few minutes before their march. It should be also noted that they customarily chanted the name of their group while they marched. Well, they marched right up to the little rickety table covered with offerings of bacon and promptly swarmed it, completely reducing the table to splinters, but not one scrap of bacon hit the ground. Then they marched on in silence and over the next hill you could hear them resume their usual chant. The next morning as the Tuchux neared the place where they were fed, the chant changed from "TUCHUX! TUCHUX! TUCHUX!" (ad finitum) it switched to "BACON! BACON! BACON!" And they did this both to the battlefield and returning from the battlefield for the remainder of the war. The table was a casualty but the formerly intimidated woman got a good chuckle every time they went past from then on.gyre wrote:I don't know if bacon will even buy good comrades, but it could compel a clique to smile and gossip behind your back, at least until you ran out of bacon.
