We had a firedrill today.
I'm on the 15th floor.
We can't take the elevators. I can't take the stairs. I got in my stairchair fine. But the part about informing the people in charge didn't go so well.
The good thing about drills is that it gives us a chance to find out where the problems are.

well, looks like we'll be getting snow by tonight.....so time for firewood. It's my winter sport, cutting and splitting my firewood each week. Gotta put a new edge on the mauls.

Ygmir, reminds me of a sad story I heard up in Angel's Camp. Seems there was an immigrant miner, Bolinsky, who fell madly in love with the ticket girl at the local Bijou. The feeling was mutual, for once she'd sold tickets to everyone waiting at the booth, she'd climb up to the loge level with her Polish honey and quietly snorgle for an hour or more. This was their habit every for every Friday night movie and Saturday matinee.

Spring turned into summer, then she fell into a mine sluice and was swept to her death. Bolinsky was inconsolable, yet returned to the Bijou for every Friday night movie and Saturday matinee, pining away for his girl in their favorite seats up in the loge level, with nothing to snorgle but a damp hanky.

At first the owner of the Bijou was worried this would drive away business, but word had gotten out around Angel's Camp and even as far as Copperopolis of the spectacle, so eventually he put up lobby posters advertising the inconsolable Bolinsky, and charged extra just to see the loge Pole pine.
