Mornin AntiM,
Holy shitfire I really do not want to get up and go to work today!
On a lighter note I bought a 46 in flat screen yesterday. Was amazed at how weird tv looks in HDTV. What a difference from my old 32in box tv.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Yeah, I don't always love my flatscreen. I don't have HD eyes.
Today is a gym day, I can't find my happy hippie hat, it is cold as hell out and I don't relish the ride back with wet hair. If I haul a hair dryer and take time to dry it, that means I miss the first bus and then I have to wait on a windy corner for 30 minutes. I know, a terrible excuse not to go swim. I can use the gazelle and the Wii, but I pay for the gym. Sigh, ot a problem if I just go do it.

You caught me, YG. Trying to get an early start today. Thx for the coffee, on this clear a cool day. Careful, Anti M. Wet head and cold weather could spell trouble. I'm not too much for exercising for exercise sake. That's why I love tennis. You exercise, but it's a game that kind of covers the exercise part. Gotta run, lots to do today. Have a great one, kiddies!

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
hah a there's Marty.
and, here's a secret to Marty's superb physical conditioning via tennis:
All the hot women there in little skirts, flitting about.
I went to his club one day, it's a beautiful place and much due to Marty's long term membership and service on boards.....that aside, I noted a large population difference as relates to gender. It was almost all gals.......and you know those tennis outfits!!
And, not surprisingly, several stopped Marty to "chat" as we strolled the grounds.
Walking in there with Marty, was what it must've been like to be pals with the champion gladiator in ancient Rome.........all that was missing was people throwing flower petals at him.

I'm blushing. You are too kind, YG. But yes the the little skirts are a bit alluring! Dives into the NEB seeking a snuggle.

Marty, the Tennis King!
Hidef is just like audio.
if your source is crap, doesn't matter how good your system is.
And these tvs are mostly computer now, so plenty to go wrong in the processing.
Picture quality varies drastically, from show to show, tv to tv.
Fyi, many people still prefer crts, regardless of cost.
You're just limited to 40" without a projector.
As for eyesight, just sit closer.
And you can get a dlp projector that projects corner to corner, wall to wall.
I bet you can see detail with that!

I did it once. The whole thing. 90 Days never felt more like an eternity.
Keep in mind, the before and after pictures are people who do multiple cycles of it. I don't know that I could do that. By the end you already have all of the DVDs memorized, down to all of the pithy comments the host makes.
I used to drive my girlfriend nuts by reciting the dialogue while we were working out.
In the end, I got results, but I had to work for them. (Then, over the next two years I ate my results.)

Hey everyone! Long time... successfully bedevilling myself over potential change has kept me distracted.
Between tennis and short skirts, I am glad bar is still the same
AntiM, I hope you dry your hair. As much as I love air drying, walking out in winter with wet hair will probably break the hair.

I didn't go, but I'll go for a walk later.
Hmmm, most of the ladies in my class are older than I am, the teacher is 84. We have two or three gentlemen too. No hotties. No teensy suits and I can't see the main gym floor from water level....

I've done that a couple of times. Cambridge to Ely (and back) in 72, 73.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
I can attest to hair not breaking when frozen.......I went to Fairbanks one Dec. to watch the northern lights for Chana hot springs.......and had hair down to the middle of my back.
I was sitting in the 100 deg. water, the air temp was -20, but nice for the first foot or so above.
I dunked under, stood up, holding my hair straight out to the sides........it froze solid in seconds.
I bent some to see if it'd break........nope, just bent and re-froze........but they did say I looked like Bill the Cat, with my hair horizontal........and two belly buttons.............

Good evening all! Drinks all round?
*opens bottle and starts pouring*
I am so happy and excited tonight! I have a plane ticket to Sacramento for January 25th, so I can catch Doc Pyro's party train to Reno.
Woo hoo, two nights in Reno and then back to the grind here.
Gosh a break like that makes a huge difference. Been a lot of bad news and bullshit for me lately but, suddenly I feel a lot better.

Edited to add: Yggy, that story is generating lots of interesting mental pictures here!

So, I just ordered a new caster (small wheel) for my chair. I hope that it's the right size. That's why I only ordered one.

No plans for Reno. I have a friend put on the new casters and change out bearings.
I really sort of object to having to get a doctor's note for routine maintenance.
