One Item for BM a Day (2010-2012)
Re: One Item for BM a Day
Made a killing at the day after Halloween costume sales. Masks, wigs, funky arm-wrap thingies, all for CHEAP!!!

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Bought a belt to wear (and partially dismantle, in order to tie whatever top I wear into the look).

I bought embroidered dresses and a blouse in Mexico, with the intent of wearing them at TTITD.

Worked on some art all last week - by candle light. That was rather interesting.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
A lot of people fall into that trap. Remember, quality > quantity. What you may want to do in order to keep the momentum and excitement up is to use this time of year to work on better lists. That will help you not only prioritize your purchases, but avoid buying anything unnecessary at all. Making and prioritizing lists is also great for figuring out your DIY or even art projects as well, too - figure out what you want to do and what you may need to start learning in order to be able to pull it off.clocksnmirrors wrote:this time around i'm going to wait until closer in on the event before i start buying stuff. i went completely out of control last time around. i was at the dollar store or thrift shop almost every weekend and most of what I bought didn't even get used.

Checklist for all practical items has been written out. Christmas list with all nonsensical items has been written out. and directions on how to acquire both are now being shipped to my parents

New tent (that I can stand up in) purchased. Airfares to USA priced. Thinking about box truck vs car.

Thanks. I'm going to follow junglesmacks advice about what company he used etc - that is, of course, if I decide to take a box truck or go for a car... ah decisions that I probably do not need to make right nowlucky420 wrote:Budget in Reno offers a service for $100 they will clean it and take your trash for you

We are getting married on playa next year too. As such, we are cutting back on some things to focus on the wedding. There is a lot to do, and we havent really much of a plan in place.
Which is typical for us when it comes to bm.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
i kinda like the idea of a playa wedding.... far cheaper. no invites cause well hell you will all be out there anyways. (ps it is friday at a spot yet to figure out yet)
and the rings we found are on etsy.$66 for mine and $60 for his. They are totally personalized

I have no idea what he is wearing but i am making my dress. Dinner is... heck no idea yet. And our cake is going to be something made with store shelf cupcakes. Pretty easy wedding. Want to track down the brass band from french quarter and see if they can help us out with some music. Yeah my first wedding was a nightmare... this is a piece of cake for the most part.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Why not make it easy on everyone you wish to be involved and have the wedding at the French Quarter. That way the band doesn't have to come to you. Fewer things that you can have go wrong, the more likely things won't. Murphy's Law is a law for a reason.
