Re: A Penny For Your Thoughts
If you ordered something at a locally owned and operated retail store on the 20th of November (this year), and it arrives on the 23rd, and you go in and pick it up and pay for it, does it mean you didn't do Buy Nothing Day right?
Hypothetically speaking.
And does it count as Plaid Friday?
Is there a black and plaid friday anywhere outside Scotland?

Re: A Penny For Your Thoughts
My thought for this day---Black Friday, is that the fiber that makes up our humanity is changing for the worse. How the hell did our mass retailers get an entire population to stampede and buy anything and everything in sight? People are gleefully charging into every store and running their credit cards up to the limit. What the hell is wrong with everyone?
That's my penny thought for today!

I am working a big box store today. It's not that bad. People are behaving well on the main. PM me for payment arrangements re: one penny.

Re: A Penny For Your Thoughts
might as well, some of my thoughts are only worth a penny.
I think Humanity is on the verge of something great, somewhere on our planet is the next Einstein/Socrates/Siddhārtha. I think collectively we may be making so much noise and commotion it may prove imposable to see them for who they are. I think wistful thinking and blind disrepair have accustomed us to look in all the expected places, looking for all the traditional signals. I think if humanity is ever going to have a chance to welcome the truth this age can bring us, we must look within our fellow man with true expectation, to look into another's eyes with genuine reverence and know we are worthy of their love.
Then again, I could just be fucked in the head.

More than a penny's worth, that. Thank you. For me, the search is local, transient, and personal.knowmad wrote:might as well, some of my thoughts are only worth a penny.

Re: A Penny For Your Thoughts
I was thinking saline rinse up the nose (clears things out, opens up the nooks and crannies of the head, and re-sets the sense of smell). Then again, I was thinking of that before the question-- darn sinuses.

Cats seem to do just fine without sinuses, so either they were more intelligently designed, or, yeah, intelligent design is bunk. And, since I am pretty certain Bast would like to have a few words with the designer over how feline reproduction works amongst cats, and IS a warrior goddess, Someone is in a lot of trouble if intelligent design is correct!
I need to get dressed and to the grocery store, my brain is muddled from sleeping in.
Note to self-- don't consult Dad about who to go for for legal advice. The time before last when I went to Unemployment Court to sue for funds, the guy my dad advised me to see simply lectured me and told me the employer had been right to fire me and the State right to deny me funds. I went to court anyway, and that time the employer didn't show, and I won. This last time, I didn't ask anyone for advise, went to court, the employer showed up, and once again I won. Either my dad's lawyer friend doesn't know anything about employment law, or I might have missed my calling as an attorney. In any event, now I might be able to pay my landlord and finally fill some of my prescriptions for medicines.
Damn it, that last one was worth at least TWO cents! And where are my pennies for the last few comments?! Hmmmnm?

I have come to what can only be best described as an inescapable conclusion that Troma makes some really bad movies. Do not, I repeat do not, waste your time watching the movie Blood Hook. Not only is there no nudity in it (which almost makes it non-Tromaesque) they didn't even try to make it even remotely interesting. At least in such Troma classics as Toxic Avenger IV there's plenty of nudity and they make fun out of people who are retarded. That's worth my next Netflix price of rental right there.
