Playa Pusher Wheel?
Dreamed up a pusher wheel for the playa..
I want one that can adapt to different kinds of MV's
I'm thinking of a wide rimed wheel off a garden tractor. A three hp gas engine from a lawn edger.. Simple centrifugal clutch. Trailer type hook up..
Wounding if three horse is enough to push "say" 400 pounds of MV and rider.
Edger on Craig's List are running 45 $ this time of year

I don't think a bike pusher would fill the spot on the playa. That is why I'm thinking a wider tire.

Steering it would be interesting to watch. Like backing a double hitched big rig. Since it is not human powered, it would need to be DMV approved.
anything worth doing is worth overdoing..

Re: Playa Pusher Wheel?
Working on a couple of steering ideas.
May be set up like pallet jack frame and fork configuration ..
Steering rods could be close to the ground with pitman-tie rod above.
Need more ideas This would just be the base for some mutant zombie art ride..
DMV approved..

Re: Playa Pusher Wheel?
Will it be like a universal pusher so you can hook it behind anything you want to move?
I think 3hp will be under powered as most of the old minibikes had 5hp and were like 200 pounds with the rider.
Sounds like it will be noisy.
Don't know how well those air cooled engines will hold up under low speeds.
I don't mean to pick nits, but those are things I would think about before stating the build.

I have 7 horse Hunda water pump engine.. It would take a overhaul to get it running.. Could buy a new one $109.. But want to know if it will work before money..
As for noise. A sound box will take care of that.. Have to install a cooling fan.. Electric off the meg..

Sorry, sounded like a motorized unicycle.

Re: Playa Pusher Wheel?

This is an electric porsche (WHY? just , Why?) and the trailer is the front end of a VW rabbit, gas engine, gas tank, etc.
I'm guessing the trailer should have a rigid tow bar, making for a longish car?

it may be easier to pull. I was looking at walking tractors and wagons in one of my day dreams.
