Morning, Grai, GH, Gyre, AntiM, YG and Elorrum. Yeah, raining like the devil here. We are high up on a hill, so no flooding problems. At high tide, the junction with the freeway often floods, so I don't know how that is till I go down to the store a bit later.
Good to see you here GH, cranky or not! Happy to know that Loony escaped damage from that fallen Pine tree. Yea for Larry and his determination!!! Killer brekie Elorrum ....YUM!
No tennis today so it is pottery making time .. . and clean up my office time as well. I hate filing and tossing out stuff. But onward and sideward say I!
Hope you all have a fine Sunday!

Mornin everybody,
Reno/sparks are getting ready for flooding in the low lying areas today. Had some monster gusts come through here last night. I'm on a hill ( just off the Keystone exit, Yg) so I'm good. Need to get up and check the backyard though...

Hola everyone, Happy Sunday! Thought I would pop in and say hi. Trying to figure out a shade structure today but am digressing...... Bringing my 59 airstream to the playa so not sure if I can use it to connect a shade structure without scratching the crap out of it. Do u think 2- 10 x 10 popup canopies can be reinforced with pvc and sandbags and work? Cant wait to see everyone on the playa!

Hello everyone! Have a drink.

I have recovered sufficiently from my Family Thanksgiving Nightmare to have a nice little turkey of my own in the oven right now
which I will peacefully enjoy with my dear husband and my son, in about an hour. Joy to the world, y'all.
And I am happily planning for 2013, wow, I think I can PARTICIPATE WITH THE THEME this year by placing an easily portable altar at the Man for a minimal additional outlay of cash. Very happy about that.

There are a few conversations here on Eplaya about Pop-up/e-z-up Shade Structures,
but majority opinion is even when Strapped and Staked Down they have a tenancy to break. One can find Snow dammaged carports at this time of year, Buying Replacement poles is not too hard, Then you are set.

Bwahahahahahaha Knowmad remember the "boat" on wheels that tried to be a bar and then wound up as a windblock??? Yeah.
I figure I can hang strings of empty beer cans off the gunnels and paint an appeal to John Frum for more beer on the bar-top. A couple strings of solar lights and we are in business.
This might actually work, too.

Hola bar! Think I'll have a beer or 3. Just got done mopping up the basement. Went down to get clothes out of dryer that I'd left for a day or so. Fuckin inch or 2 of water throughout... Seems ground is so saturated the water seeped in from under the walls AARGH!
Ah well glad kids were here to help mop up. Now to wash all the towels, sheets and blankets we used.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Hey all! Where's the hot choccy? Oh yeah, here!
I got to climb up on the second story roof and try to get it to drain. In my office I have the steady drip drip drip into a bucket from standing water by a clogged drain. Then went around unclogging the yard drains so at least my front yard doesn't have standing water. My duck pond is back and a large part of the field is underwater. But we're having a respite from some of the rain, so hopefully some more water will seep into the ground. I won't hold my breath though. And I have to keep an eye on my basement too.
But now I can tuck back into bed with my iPad and rest some more. And wonder when we'll hear about ticketing!

when I was looking for a house in in Evansville Indiana I saw a really nice one that was was quite a ways uphill from the Ohio river. High enough that for the river to reach it, all the surrounding states would have to be under water. One of the selling features was that the two sump pumps worked and would keep the water out most of the time.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Oh no, Lucky420, sorry to hear about the flooding but glad to hear you've mopped it. Hopefully no more of that.
Winebuff/Knowmad, you may also want to check out a few of the other shade threads out there on the shelter board. If I remember correctly there's an interesting one Oxygen started for structures in general (and some exotic ones and cool ideas in general), plus a monkey hut (or modified version of one) might suit winebuff's needs.
Woohoo for altars and drinks, thanks MDF! I'm still a bit wobbly from last night's artumnal fun, I think a trip to the pub is in order (for medicinal purposes, of course). Then it's back to work on camp plans.

hi gang!!
dang 420........do you have a sump pump? if you have a concrete floor in the basement, you could put one . they're not expensive, and easy to hook up.
good to see ya poppin back in WB. yeah what knowmad said about pop ups.
I got the first side of my Hofstove put together......not final welded until it's all together, but it's starting to take shape, finally.
and,it seems to have quit raining!!
