2013 Theme - Cargo Cult - thoughts?

Cargo Cult - Who is John Frum? He is known to us by many names, this Visitor from Elsewhere, dispenser of endless abundance and wielder of mysterious technologies: John Frum, Quetzalcoatl, Osiris, "Bob." His cargo is splendid, his generosity boundless, his motives beyond our understanding. But across the ages and around the world, the stories all agree: one day he will return, bearing great gifts. Our theme this year asks three related questions; who is John Frum, where is he really from, and where, on spaceship Earth, are we all going?

Agree. All we really need is for the aliens to come and give us all the entitlements we might wish for. Yeah, that's the ticket! Free medical care and 3D HDTV and school lunches and love mates provided. They will finally bring an end to that nasty self reliance, and that nefarious self control. We can have it all, because the aliens will give it to us.

WE have a large number of cargo ports here in Salem.. The natives call them garage sales..

Now for this years gifting.. A flat bed utility trailer covered with cargo (nuts bolts and springs and thing) A small genuflex to the alter (me) and you may choose and take item you need.
