The Coffee Shop Too!
I miss coming in the coffee shop to the smell of fresh coffee brewing, pastries baking, and slinging corned beef hash 'n eggs with a side of bacon, and good conversation!
Welcome to The Coffee Shop Too! It's different than the other coffee shop, but just as friendly!
ETA: free coffee and pastries for the grand opening!

Today, 12/12/12, I surprised the folks at work with a dozen donuts and a jug of coffee.

Good morning everyone! Simon! I'm so glad you're here! Here's a brownie and a cuppa coffee, or tea if you prefer.
Today's brunch menu contains, made to order omletes, bacon, sausage, eggs benedict, creamy grits, biscuits and gravy, hand carved roast beef, ham, and turkey, fluffy biscuits, white and wheat rolls and croissants. we have a delicious array of fresh fruits and salads. to drink we have coffee, tea, milk, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a complementary glass of champagne.

Drinking tea in a coffee house! Don't we have an ordinance against that?!

Re: The Coffee Shop Too!
I'm with you. The best coffee I ever had was espresso from a french press. I am normally a person who takes her coffee practically blonde, so to have a cup of espresso plain (and like it) was remarkable.
So, I asked for a french press for my birthday. I'm a weird new-gift-hoarder who doesn't use her gifts right away, admiring them instead for a time, and waiting for some act of God before I use it, but . . . I'm weirdly excited about it in a procrastinate-y way.

I like mocha, possibly with an extra shot or three of espresso.

Re: The Coffee Shop Too!
when I was a kid my mom and grandma use to have this glass coffee percolator that they would make espresso on the stove with. it smelled so good! my mom would make hers with a squeeze of lemon some lemon rind and it's a bit of sugar in a small teacup. when she got towards the bottom of the cup she would let me drink the rest because it had a lemon rind maybe a sees from the lemon, in a little bit of sugar and it was so good. I would love to find 1 of those glass percolators again so I can make some espresso and fix it just the way my mom did.

Re: The Coffee Shop Too!
I use an Aeropress with a metal filter. So it's somewhat like an espresso extraction, and somewhat like a French press. Nice and smooth and good. I also find clean up easier compared to French presses.

Question to the larger group here. Does anyone ever think he is kidding when he makes these pronouncements? I mean after the first few times when the conceptual Simon is still percolating in your brain.
