One Item for BM a Day (2010-2012)
Re: One Item for BM a Day
So I keep an eye on craigslist for good deals, and a couple days ago I got an awesome deal for a new, never used, still has the tags on it 50 qt igloo cooler for $10!! So I'm going to use that for my dry ice/ frozen food and get another one for drinks and non-frozen stuff.

What is it with cooler luck? I got my cooler free in the lobby of my apartment building two years ago. Bleached the heck out of it in case it'd been toting black market kidneys, and I was good to go!

Yep--I won't bring anything to the playa that doesn't survive beta testing without mooping! My main curiosities are: do the ends shed, and if so how can I seal them; how easily does it snag, and what happens if/when it does (do the individual strands shed, or stay bound to one of the edges?). We'll see once it gets here.theCryptofishist wrote:Just be sure to bang your first creation against a wall, hard, to make sure it's playa ready.

I was gifted a long-sleeved t-shirt and flannel plaid pajama pants for Christmas. They are now in my playa clothing box.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
Hit a going out of business sale at a wine cellar, got 750 worth of pretty decent wines for $300. Nice assortment of sweet/dry red/white. Should be enough for our public hours at Dye with Dignity. Woot! Probably could have waited and gotten a bigger discount in a couple weeks, but I had quite a pick of selection today so I went for it.

Found some ear muffs for my hearing aids.. They keep the ears warm and dampers sound.. The insulation could be removed to use them on the playa..People here have asked about ear protection..These are Gorgonz ear warmers from BiMart for $9+.. Work well for leaf blowing, garden tractor and shop.. They fit behind the neck and are quit comfortable..

Blow a garden tractor tire.. Wasted the tube..
Going to cut the old tube into heavy duty rubber bands..
I can think of a few things to use them.. The rest will be at the cargo port for other burners to take for what ever..

I got a couple of packages of these stakes at 80% off. They are 7.5 inches long, and were sold for staking out inflatable holiday yard monstrosities. I thought they were cheap enough to take up some space in my kit for a while, and might come in handy.

We have a little pop up shop at the mall with all sorts of random sparkly gifts and crap; they have a rack of adult jammies. I breifly considered the rainbow unicorn, but Gojira rules. No way could I make a Godzilla suit myself for the price. Larry has skeleton footie jammies (with a heart), but he got his at Halloween on the half price sales. Spencer's has all sorts of adult footie jammies just now, including a sock monkey. I think Larry would make an excellent monkey!

it is pretty sturdy pole wise. We are of corse going to use re bar to stake it. but i like it cause it has mesh on the top so it wont turn into a kite
i will say if you plan on doing a solar shower with it, i hope you are short cause even though the tent is 7'2" with the gravity fed bag you have to almost get on your knees to be able to use it on your head. We are getting a hot water on demand system that has a pump so we wont have that issue unless the pump goes out.

Re: One Item for BM a Day
My Coleman Demand water heater will not rise the water for a shower..I have a Stanport Shower pump.. I run the heated water into a bucket and pump it up to shower level.. The hotter you want the water the slower the flow. The water has to stay in the heater longer to make it hotter.. I still takes more water than I want to carry to TTITD ..tattoogoddess wrote:it is pretty sturdy pole wise.
