Depends upon the job. If you are wearing a... er, I am not certain what a gilet is, actually. But wearing a logo from a company in a completely different field (a software manufacturer's logo while working at a university's medical research building, for example) is one thing. Wearing a logo from a competitor is another (an Office Depot logo while working at Office Max, for example.).

Not know what material the gilet is made out of could be important, but people's suggestions sound reasonable. Some opaque paint sprayed over it could work (or at least make it less noticeable.) A patch ironed and/or sewed over it is another. Can you get your new employer's logo as a patch? Putting their logo over someone else's might appeal to some supervisors.

This is such a Ratty question. Can you repurpose an old t-shirt? Make a patch from it?

Print this onto an iron-on sheet for ink jets and iron it onto fabric and sew it on...

Well I was hoping to have the day off since it is my B-day. But my boss didn't do the scheduling so I ended up working it. :(

Graidawg, the issues with printing on cloth are stiffness and irritation, color fastness/bleed, and compatibility, say with nylon, dacron, etc.
They make special inks which are best, but paints may work, especially if you don't care about other issues.
The iron on idea is great if you can cover well enough.

Paint with high aluminum content will cover anything,
You probably know that already.
It may depend on how valuable it is to you.

T shirt printing shops will have the ink.
Not hard to get anyway.
Acrylic was state of the art when my friend had his shop.

I never heard of a gilet.
I think we would call it a vest, though it may be a different cut.

Happy Birthday BoxBurner. Sorry you have to work on your BDay.

Good to see you Misa. You are always in our thoughts!

Cold and drizzly here today. Studio too cold to work in, so after making a big brekie of lightly scrambled eggs with onions and two types of shredded cheese (and bacon of course) for my son Ben, who stopped by for a brief visit this morning, my wife and I went to a wonderful grove of Redwood trees near the Mill Valley Library. Misa, you know the one. My wife went to climb the nearby Dipsea stairs and I walked about in the mist and drizzle in the cathedral that is this magnificent redwood grove. After a bit of quiet meditation I hiked up the short hill to the warmth and quiet of the library. I chose a few John Updike books, sat down in a leather easy chair by the floor to ceiling window looking out on the redwoods and a small creek below and began reading. A short while later, after her climb, my wife joined me and began working on homework from a math class she is taking at the local community college here. Kind of an old fashioned, tech devoid, quiet and magical afternoon. Felt really good.

Hope your day, dear fellow barflies, was at least as good.

Thanks, MisaBlue! Those look good.

Today's been sort of meh. Overcast and gloomy. Bleah. I need a magical gateway to Hawaii (or somewhere else nice and tropical.)

Happy happy Birthday Box Burner!! :P :P :P :P

MMMM, Misa what nice apples! yum.

I love the redowoods Marty! I'll have to ask you and the hive mind where the best are in the SF Bay Area/Nor Cal the next time I venture out toward the coast.

Update on the dogs. Yep they're acting skittish. Might be the highway they recently moved next to or some pre-pubescent kid smackin' them around. They're Rottweilers raised for fun, not as guard dogs. We'll get to the bottom of what's going on eventually. Poor doggies, they're sooo sweet.

*wanders in for a late night cuppa*

Rain, rain rain here tonight..went to a meeting this morning, ran some errands and then tucked into bed to read all day. Almost done with Ken Follett's World Without End.

My LOTR marathon was last Sunday. 15 geeks in an apartment and the hosts served themed meals in between the films. Lots of fun. I'm thinking of catching The Hobbit tomorrow or Tuesday afternoon.
