Yup, and my Grandmothers trunk and sewing box are some place in the storage racks at the Norwegian American museum at that " Swede school".

Being a commercial artist is not being a sell out. If it allows you to do what you want to do, that's great. You may have to shove some parts of your artistic nature away when you are working for others, but then you have to cash and time to create exactly the art you want to make when you are doing it for yourself.

fuck yeah!

I have been on this path for more than a decade and I find it pretty fancy.

Um, thanks everyone.

The Voice has spoken here & on Rians "deep insights" thread, and by GuinivereElises' birthday party in the Bar to not take oneself so seriously.

Got it! Again, thanks!

Treasure of the Sierra Madre had an ego-centric theme..

Started out well enough, but went to shit when one partner began storing his treasure seperate from his mate. Classic "projection" ensued....

Lesson, Trust your back to your mate. Always. Never ever ever deny them your trust. Ever. No, not even then.

Worst mistake Baltimore ever made ... giving up both Schilling *AND* Steve Finley in the SAME trade. That belongs in the fuck thread.

(unrelated idle chat drift)

About four years ago, someone put my name on a list that thought I'd had a baby.... wrong-o. Anyways, it has been somewhat comical to see the Huggies™ disposable diaper co. send a sample diaper every three months, with a new & larger size.

Up to a "4", or 37 pound baby. Might use it underneath my next turkey on the grill to catch fat drippings? Just think, in only fifteen years, they will be up to a man-sized sample I can use!

What is amazing/incredulous.... that I still hope to know a body as "love"
when what I know of "love" is not a body, but a thought.

Rwanda Has made plastic bags illegal to use manufacture or import. The BBC didn't didn't say if you would get in more trouble for the drugs or the bag they came in .

They have begun to stock shelves with hemp bags. You cant tell the difference between the drugs and the bag it comes in.

LAFAYETTE, La. - A University of Louisiana at Lafayette physics professor was banned from the campus Wednesday and taken to the coroner's office for evaluation after threatening his class, university officials said.

Student Kacie Spears said professor Louis Houston lost control right after class began Wednesday morning and was yelling obscenities.

"Then he told us if we got out of our seats he's gonna kill us. He went on the black board and wrote "911 now", so we were really in fear for our lives," Spears told KATC-TV.

Spears said Houston slapped a student and then told his class he was God.

After class ended, students left the room in Broussard Hall and someone called campus security.

Houston was taken to campus police to answer questions. Officials then evacuated Broussard Hall and canceled all classes there while police searched the building. University police contacted the FBI (news - web sites), State Police, and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Department Intelligence Unit for assistance.

A bomb dog was also brought in to check for explosives, but nothing was found.

Spears said it wasn't the first time Houston had an outburst in class.

"He's always acted a little strange, he's yelled and cursed before, and this time we waited for it to stop, but it never did," Spears says.

Law enforcement officers transported Houston to the Lafayette Parish Coroner's Office to be evaluated for possible involuntary commitment to a mental health facility. In the meantime, Houston has been banned from the university's campus and his faculty duties have been suspended.

University officials said in a statement they would make a final decision about Houston's employment once a full investigation into the incident is complete.

ok...so too much quantum mechanics got to this guy, but why did they take him to the coroner's office? Was he an out of control zombie?

Hey... all that stuff is just relative. At the speed of insanity, your own actions appear sane. To the casual observer, standing on the platform of reality, you're screaming down the line, out of control.

Another reason I don't teach. I'd be slapping students, too.

To a degree, yes. Even the most evil, selfish, motherfucker, has a place where he (or she) can be trusted. Of course, you will also be enmeshed in their un-trustworthy parts as well.

If you know how far, or in what areas, you can trust someone, try to deal only in those areas. It is only the things we don't know, the areas that we are uncertain about, that cause us trouble.

And then there's black hole insanity. Or should that be taken to the crush thread?

Black Hole insanity is often called Hawking Dementia. The outward symptoms are a blank stare where all information seems to be absorbed but no feeback is noted. As a matter of fact, nothing at all can be learned from looking at the sufferer.

Last I saw, climbing into the cupboards in the bar. Expect him to crawl out of the sewer somewhere in a couple of days. Or maybe fall out of the sky courtesy of a vulture. I wouldn't put it past him. Maybe a locking codpiece is in order.

In a safe place. Can you say "Boxer Briefs"? How about "Tight Boxer Briefs"?

Yeah, he's done all of those things... and more (the buzzard caper was a few years ago in California... after a hard night o' drinkin'). I tried the locking codpiece, but it was metal and the clanging kept me awake at night. Then, one night, I woke up and it was quiet... too quiet.

He can pick locks. Sigh...
