Well, I finally got through to Unemployment. They said my file was just assigned to someone to work on today. They also said that a lot of their workers are on three day work weeks until the end of the year, so it might be two more weeks. They are supposed to be sending me a letter so I can prove I am not making this up.

I'll just take a quick drink, because I need to call the temp agency and see if I am really supposed to report for an assignment tomorrow or not. (And that is another story...)

And then I think I will take a nap.

Hugs to all, especially BAS & MDF. My last job experience was similar; I just got to the point where I couldn't kiss ass anymore. So now I'm happily self employed. Got too used to being myself more and more instead of just one week of the year, and corporate wasnt too happy with me.

I'm having some issues right now with being self starting. Sometimes I go upstairs to work and end up,surfing the Internet for hours. Or come downstairs to eat dinner and end up by the heater on eplaya- like now must eat-living on pastries isn't good for the waistline or mental health.

dang, long day, but I finally got the camper off the firetruck........so Frankencamper is no more, until like the phoenix, it rises next summer, to make it's pilgrimage to the desert.
of course, about a foot above the stands, a spreader bar/board broke, and the whole dang thing fell..........but, it fell and flopped onto it's stand.......so, all is well?

I almost fainted until I saw the end of your sentence, having missed seeing Frankencamper this year.

(I wonder how big the evap pond would need to be to make that possible, and how much it would hurt to shower under it? Just wondering.)

well, really, there's nothing saying I can't set off the hoses on playa. as long as it's clean water, seems an easy performance art to make it rain!!
it might hurt if you are very close......I'd be it'd almost kill a person at 20' or so.
it's sure knock you down out to probably 100'.

but hey a game/!!!! you and a bunch of friends get naked and march towards me in Phalanx formation, and I'll see if it's like bowling, with water!!
it'l be really fun........and funny.

with just the water monitor on the top, at about 200 psi it'll use 500 gallons in just about a minute.
the EMS guys said they'd consider setting a 2K gallon fire tank, next to me, in case of emergency......and of course, they are re-fillable....no?

well, got both wood splitters out and warmed up yesterday, finally getting into real fire wood season.
the 12 lb. splitter has a cracked handle, so, I may have to fix that soon. the little 8 lb. is still fine for smaller stuff.

not to worry Winebuff, gluteinfree is all the rage..at first the stuff tasted like sawdust, then after a while and more $s for alternatives I can do the
thing . Most of the time I remember how I also went through dietary restriction like macrobiotic . Because we support the family members with Celiac disorders we are all attempting good humor and saying that we are less sleepy without glutein.
As long as I can load my cup with real cream and sugar I'll go along with all the others needs.

Yggy, thinking of you . I gently asked the adored one to go live in a cabin on the Mt. He said he is done with chopping wood for warmth.

ASD: I find wood splitting so therapeutic. Tell him that. Swinging that 12 or so lb. maul, sometimes a big ole piece cracks like a melon, both pieces of oak flying apart........sometimes, you hack and hack away at it, working it until it finally splits. Either way, depending on who's face you are seeing on the round, it's really fulfilling.

There are a lot of gluten free cookie recipes out there that have black beans in them.

I will tell you: It works. As awful as it sounds, they're good. The directions will say "Allow to cool completely"... I ignored that the first time I made black bean brownies. Don't! The cooling time allows it to no longer taste like black beans!

Who has hot coco!? Just got done getting jeff unstuck out of the driveway and taking teddy out. the snow is as deep as him, he hopped off the hill into the snow and sunk to the ground up to his ears. but he kept jumping around lol. 40 mph winds and blowing snow. gross!

When I was younger, my Grandmother's neighborhood did a huge 4th of July celebration at the community pool. Everyone from every house plus their friends and family were there, they had games, bands, and let kids parade and all sorts of stuff. Probably 800 to 1,000 people through out the day.

One of the games, was that the fire station at the edge of the neighborhood, would bring out a fire truck. Park it on the street next to a hydrant, at the edge of a large green belt about 60 yards wide and 40 yards deep from the street. They'd wet down the grass to the point it was really slippery.
Any one over a certain age (I was never old enough) could line up across the back of the green belt, they'd blow the horn on the truck.
Then everyone would take off for the truck at a mad dash, but the fire men are on top blasting people back with the fire hose.
People would get hit, knocked off their feet, and shot across the really wet grass. Then get back up all muddy and keep trying.
Most of the racers would quit after the first time they got knocked of their feet.
All the parents and younger kids watch, laugh, and cheer.
This would go one for 10 minutes or so. Then who ever got to the truck first, or maybe the first 3, would get some sort of prize.
There was always a few people that got pretty screwed up, chipped teeth, or fell cut them selves on something in the grass, twisted ankles, concussions from falling wrong. The best part is, that even though all sorts of folks got hurt, it went on every year from when I was really little tell I was about 14 or so.
