Hi ASD!
I'll most likely be watching John Wayne movies, sipping 18 year old scotch, and falling asleep by 10.

We'll be going to a movie and having a quiet early night. But right now, guess what, tennis beckons. Morning MDF, YG and ASD Have a great day. Cool and overcast this morning, with a few days of clear weather ahead. Amazing how you all helped GD with his project. The power of cooperation and shared thought.

Cheers and (((((((((ALL)))))))),

still don't know what they're called, though...

Yes, I know exactly what she meant. I still think that they are like cotter pins, except they stay in place. But they do the same thing.

Unless, of course, I don't know what "cotter pin" means... Not impossible.

In the news on a Norwegian web site: Police in Denmark report that thieves broke into a fireworks factory and made off with 300 six-inch star-burst shells -- but no mortar tubes and ignition mechanisms to launch them with. The shells have a fuse that appears fairly long but burns down in one second. Authorities expect to identify the culprits on New Years Day -- by visiting area hospitals.

Happy last day to you too! I'm up much earlier than I really wanted to be, but hopefully there will be some kind of disco nap at some point in the day and then I'll be up later than I really should be later on :)

For those of you who are going out tonight, drive safe. Not just make sure you're safe & sober behind the wheel, but watch out for ppl who may be impaired. Check your state's AAA to see if they offer the free 'Tipsy Tow' - they offer it in CA (at least in the cities), if you've had a few you can call them for a free cab ride home. In SF it's from 6p-6a. And our city's Muni (bus/subway) is free to ride overnight, too.

Thanks, trilobyte, for the timely and excellent reminder. In many states, they have a 'booze it and lose it' campaign ongoing where there will be random sobriety checkpoints.

I'd rather have those than have to attend another friend's funeral.

Happy Birthday, Doc! *smooch*

Sorry I missed your birthday yesterday, (((Felony))).

Why is it that I feel like I am just now finally coming to grips with 2012, just as it is slinking out the door???

I have a deep-tissue massage scheduled for this evening, so I can leave the year's accumulation of fears and worries behind, and start fresh again at midnight.

Happy New Year to everyone.
May your prep be extensive,
But not too expensive.
May your campmates be considerate through and through.
May your vehicle drive there,
And your wacky plans thrive there
And your burn be tolerable, too.
