Ramen Cart?
I heard about this guy driving around and passing out ramen around the playa at night. I looking for this wonderful cart when I was out at night.... Did anyone get a chance to get some of his ramen (no pun intended)?? I'm hoping he is back in 2013 because I vow to find him, if so. Dusty playafied food, nom!

That kind of thing strikes me as being something that works best when it's a random delight or some kind of surprise. Once you start putting forth more effort to finding someone who'd make it for you than you'd put into doing it for yourself, it turns into a head-scratcher.

It's a city of 50,000+ people. If someone told me to fly to an unfamiliar city like Galveston, TX and look for their friend's grandma who makes great lasagna, I'm not going to have much luck wandering up and down all the streets peering in windows.
Everyone remembers the major landmark pieces and the giant, obvious art cars like El Pulpo Mechanico, but statistically no one saw you, and you saw nothing.

The guy and his cart were real. And it was wonderful. Right at sunset, had condiments, peppers, onions etc to mix up with it. Fabulous.

White Dragon Noodle Bar was camped right next to us. They had soba noodles, but it was awesome.
It's hard enough trying to find a fixed camp, but trying to find a mobile noodle cart? haha.

Re: Ramen Cart?
I met him in 2011! I was starting to crash around 3:00 AM or so (my best guess, anyway) and was out in the deep playa, and out of nowhere he rolls up and offers me some ramen (he had meat and veggie ramen!) It was, hands down, the best gift I got that year.
