Some of you picked up on the intended lightness in which I made my earlier post, my thanks to you for not taking the lower road and flaming me...

Of course I know relationships are much more rewarding than meaningless sex. Why else would I marry? Duh.

But that's not what I wanted to talk about. Some of you got that.

Others of you responded with both good humor and honesty, reinforcing things in your own words things which I intellectually know but have a difficult time seeing from a woman's viewpoint because I am a man, and therefore different from women. A man is not a woman with a penis, and likewise, a woman is not a man without a penis. We see and experience things in fundamentally different ways. Thanks for helping me see through your eyes a little bit.

I appreciate you taking the time and effort. This kind of communication helps both sexes understand each other better, always a good thing.

And Stuart, were you pleading guilty to never turning down a hummer or to turning one down...?
Be the dime you seek.

I was just discussing with my wife the other night about how easy it is for women- I mean really, is there a guy out there who would say no to a woman if she just straight out told you she wants to suck your dick?

Of course not.

And yet she seemed so amazed by this.

Hey, recreational sex is just fine. As long as everyone is enjoying themselves and nobody is dishonest or misleading in their intentions, go for it, it can be great fun. I think what I was feeling at the time was that if you get all wrapped up in "the game" you can sometimes loose sight of the forest for the trees. Mellow out and be yourself and wonderful things might just start to land in your lap ... or face ... or wherever.

yeah, but the thing is for sport fuckin ya gotta be in really good shape. i mean, if it's just recreational then it ups the physical ante quite a bit. that's a lot of pressure maynard! not always up to it...nicer with someone who likes you and might overlook the spinach in your teeth :)

however, there have been times when sport was what it was, and that's all good...but the thing is emotions just happen. sometimes it happens when you weren't meaning it to, and then there you are, in love with a one night stand...big time boo hoo for you. from what i understand it happens to guys too...but i agree with Silver when he says that most men view sex as a recreational activity. i know guys who don't want casual sex because they want a relationship...they do exist. usually right after they get their heart broken...but not from a one nighter, it's true.

a lot of people are selfish, lazy lovers. don't sleep with them. Good, Giving and Game...GGG, like Savage sez, it's the only way to fly. don't settle for less. and don't be less!

and what is with all the married horndogs on this thread anyways? heh...living vicariously through the singles are ya? well alrighty then!

Besides, I think you're gonna think about it carefully if you get one of those offers.

the latter. I'm a mutant.

Also, I once had my heart broken after a one night stand. Well, it was a one night stand that turned into a short relationship that ended up with me being crushed. I guess I'm not relationship material. Better shuffle off and tell my wife.

I'm not sure it's "mutantness." I suspect it's a natural varient. I suspect all broad statements about human sexuality are over-simplified.

bingo

might even go so far as to say
I suspect all broad statements are over-simplified.
but then I'd be guilty of over simplifying

damn paradox

I *SO* want to say something here ... but I am holding my tongue as this isn't the place for a long heated debate about ... what it is I don't want to talk about but really do ... but dont.

If there was a MARRIED HORNDOGS thread, nobody would post to it, much less read it.

Why not? Well, I am not married but I would post to it! Married people can be horndogs too, ya know. It isn't like marriage means ... oh shit, I better shut up now.

A conversation for another day, another thread, maybe even another website. Gawd it is tempting though.
