Re: The Bar, Volume #4
thanks, Roark.....good ideas.
I do have bibs and such.
Usually, catching fire is not such an issue, in that I wear tighter clothing. but, it's been cold so loose stuff lately.
Though, I'm feeling that may be a mistake.......hahaaa. Cutting stuff, is often when the fires occur, either the torch, plasma, or, I have a cutoff saw with a chainsaw motor, that really throws fire, too.
Oh Fishy..........never feel bad about jokes at my expense...feel free, I can laugh at me, at least as well as at others.
yeah, Trilo......all those "cutting edge technology tools"........gotta be cool.
unfortunately, I'm always working with decades old "new" stuff. Still fun, but a place like you use would be a dream.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Mornin everyone. Another day in paradise. Strange thing last night happened. We live out in the woods and was just going to bed when we heard massive howling out our window. A coyote must have caught something because it was howling for 5-10 minutes and it a horrbile shrieking sound. Then it went quiet. Needless to say, my dog is staying in today or on a leash. We have bears, cougar, coyote, elk etc etc. Quite the Nature Preserve but this sound was very eery. Anyone else have coyotes around them? Such a creepy sound they make....
Re: The Bar, Volume #4
It was such a creepy noise then silence. Needless to say, I slept like shit.... Circle of life....

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
yeah, I have all those critters, too.
Foxes, of all things, can make a very weird noise.
and, the big cats, especially if in mating or birthing season, are strangely vocal.
I bought a couple of "game cams", that will take photos of whatever moves "out there" even in infra red, so as not to scare them. Not hooked em up yet, but, did buy 'em........

They don't just howl.
We get a lot of wierd noises from them every 2 or 3 nights.

Good Morning Bar! Yep, we hear the coyotes just about every night, then the coons move in to steal the cat food. I wish the coyotes would develop a taste for coon.....

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
We toss a longhorn into our pastures for coyote patrol, especially during the calving season. Nothing hates a coyote like a longhorn.
I pulled-up one morning and saw a coyote being flipped repeatedly into the air while the rest of the pack watched from a very safe distance. Longhorns can run like the wind and dance like Fred Astaire. And they're *smart* for cattle. That was a very BAD day for Wile. E. Coyote indeed!

That is exactly the noise Figjam. Man, it sounds like they are being killed or enjoying their kill. Hope they are gone for awhile.
Yggy, I would love to have a cam like that. I should invest in that. I am sure it would scare the shit out of me though.

This is kind of like the eplaya pets thread and the Fuck thread rolled into one. Welcome back Elliot
Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Hey Triken! I'm just about to upgrade your Playa bicycle with the taller handlebar.
I've discussed with Triken how to back up my puter files, and apparently I can do it with a seven dollar gadget, but being me... I had not done anything. Luckily, it was only the operating system that was fried and the photos and manuscripts and such are OK.
All my fault. Last time I rearranged the bird-nest of cables I absentmindedly plugged the machine into a plain power strip instead of the surge protected one.
Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Oh, Elliot... I'm so glad all your photos and manuscripts are still intact! I'll bet some of those are irreplaceable.Elliot wrote:![]()

I'd be devastated to lose all that.
And, thank you for fixing up the bike with a taller handlebar... I know the poor neck will appreciate it a Bunch!!
I registered* my info today ahead of ticket sales, hoping to have an easy time at the next registration, and also hoping to have the 13th off to wait in line...
With that in mind, best of luck to everyone here who will be chasing their tickets!
