Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Happy birthdays, AntiM & Knowmad! Wow, Elliot, good job with the bird rescue!
We had a great time at the Edwardian Ball on Friday night. The only downside was the lack of any kind of seating, and by the time we got home Pandorra's feet were killing her. Between still being sore on Saturday night and finding out she needed to come into the office early on Sunday for a project, we ended up missing out on Saturday night. Sorry to miss you, Killbuck and Nilasnake, hope you guys had an amazing time.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
Terrific bird story.
One year we had a large hawk, or maybe a small eagle, on the ground in our garden. Looked like he'd flown into a cable or branch and whacked himself, feathers all ruffled. Would watch us as we walked in the yard, but would not try to fly. Hopped around a bit. We hung out in the backyard in case the neighbor cats got any ideas. We called wildlife rescue, they said to try to toss a blanket over him, put him in a box and bring him to the bird rescue. Uh, okay. Larry prepped, he was ready to toss the blanket, when the bird flew up and away (largish hawk after all). Wildlife lady says sometimes they eat too much and can't fly for a while. Uh, okay.

Finally have time to write more about the BM Israel.MyDearFriend wrote:(((Misa))) have a great time and show them all IT CAN BE DONE.
MDF, they can show us!!! It is such amazing, very strong and growing community there.
It is not "like" BM there because IT IS BURNING MAN THERE!!!
This is video from their first Burn
[media]
It looks like a playa, it feels like playa...it is playa, just in Israel
They totally got it...and I am not talking about the core group who've beed at BRC, but I am talking about the community (there was around 1300 people at last event)...even people who come to the event for the first time have it from the first moment....just amazing.
I had great time and met great people.
Their next Burn should be in May and I really really really want to go!
And if anyone from you can, just come, because they are awesome!
This is from the meeting they made for us when we came last week

heh heh, well I've been driving around since Burning Man without a front passenger seat, and a good coat of dust on the interior. If I wasn't planning on having a passenger next week, I don't know when I would have gotten to it. rain helps for the outside, but the inside... takes work.Roark wrote:Ellorum: Mine is undergoing a scientific dirt test. The problem with being an intellectual is that thing where instead of having an experience you think about how you're going to describe the experience when it's over.

Nice Job, Elliot!!
good on ya!!
I tell ya, some of this years fire wood, is like stone!! it's black oak, and I cut it 4 years ago. I leave it in logs, and cut and split as needed.
some of these are butt cuts, maybe 40" diameter.
And it's so hard, especially in any burl area, it breaks, like concrete, notsplitting like wood.
heavy and so dense!!
some pieces turn into one huge coal in the woodstove, and will last 24 hours!!
dang good stuff.
I have about 20 cords to go through.......
