Re: The Bar, Volume #4
I used to work a job where it was career limiting to just call in sick, they expected you to come in so the boss could get a look at you and then decide whether or not they'd let you go home. That always seemed ridiculous to me, but looking back it was one of many, many ridiculous things they did.
I've been teetering on the edge of a cold for the last few days, but probably managed to push myself over the edge. The weather was gray, wet, and rainy but I still went out working in it. Had to make a few more runs from old storage to new joint, and then run to the market and pick up a few things. I didn't get too soaked and was dressed warm enough, so we'll see. I'll prescribe myself a pre-emptive course of vodka just to be safe. Hopefully tomorrow's dry, my schedule's wider open so I can hopefully get more done.

My job has paid sick days. But if you use them you are penalized for not showing up, same as if you just did not show up. They have a point system and when you reach a certain number of points you can get fired. They still don't want you to come in sick though.

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
The local walmart in my hometown, has posted no overnight parking signs. Haven't seen any of the other usual RV's at any walmart that I have been to in Salt Lake lately. Have no idea where they went but I know that some are folks living in their RV just like me. Anyone know if this is just local managers or new company policy for walmart nationwide?

Found at: http://corporate.walmart.com/frequently-asked-questionsWhile we do not offer electrical service or accommodations typically necessary for RV customers, Walmart values RV travelers and considers them among our best customers. Consequently, we do permit RV parking on our store parking lots as we are able. Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV.

Good find, Rice! I had no idea.
I didn't even think this would be something that WalMart would post a policy about.

Thanks, but all I did was look... ePlaya forces me to think, and to find the right answer when I see a question.Savannah wrote:Good find, Rice! I had no idea.

That part of Walmart's RV policy statement is one you want to take seriously. I've seen RV's ticketed and towed more than once from a Walmart because of local restrictions.Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Please contact management in each store to ensure accommodations before parking your RV.

Thumps ECM
When Sam Walton was alive, he encouraged RVs to park at his stores. He did not found the Good Sam club as is often claimed. However, once his kids took over, they let the stores set policy about RVs... and the answer is often NO RV parking anymore.
Truckstops, truckers always look for free parking.

Given the surface composition, one small thermonuclear would do it. And just think of the dust reduction!

Re: The Bar, Volume #4
One of the Walmarts in Reno had a no-overnight-parking policy, but if you asked the manager she'd give permission for some people, based on if she thought you'd be safe. Seems that location had 24/7 security car due to crime in the parking lot. In 2010 the driver was so thrown off by all the Burners using the lot as a staging area, he drove over a median and ripped the bottom off the transmission.Kinetik V wrote:That part of Walmart's RV policy statement is one you want to take seriously...Permission to park is extended by individual store managers, based on availability of parking space and local laws. Anyone know the latest on a Nevada State overnight RV parking ban?

Thanks for the coffee, AntiM, but I'll go here today.
I do think I'm beating it, ASD, thanks.
Not feeling worse at least, and once I get moving a little, maybe better.
I guess it could even be allergies? the cedar trees are starting thier pollination, and it can be tough on me when they first start.
well, we'll see, I guess.
nice sunrise FJ! thanks for sharing.

Now that you mention the cedar trees Yggy I am remembering having this conversation with you before.
Have you tried allegra? One 180 mg tab twice a day for three days then once a day until the pollen counts come down again or until you forget to take them
which means you are better. I love that stuff.
More
please thanks, it's unusually cold here today.
