What can I sell/rent/barter on Eplaya?
The short answer is: nothing.
The long answer is TICKETS in the ticket forum.
Eplaya is non-commercial, no one may sell any item or service here. Yes, people may ask for and make recommendations on good deals or where to find specific things IN CONTEXT of an existing thread.

Re: What can I sell/rent/barter on Eplaya?
The one time that I posted a coupon code for a specific burner discount to a very commonly used hotel, it was deleted.. even though i was in no way profiting and just trying to help. Other "group rate" hotel threads made the cut just fine. So.. I guess the rules are open to interpretation and mood of the moderator du jour.
Then again, I've also seen threads and posts selectively "pruned" when no ToS policy violation occurred.. just a general irritant to the mod. *shrug*

What do BM tickets go for on Ebay after the sale?
I need two tickets and am gonna try really hard to get the $380 tickets, even going so far as clocking out at work on sale day and trying to get em.
So, if I would need to get them off Ebay during the summer how much would I be looking at?
$500-$600 or so????
I really hope i can get em on the 13th :-/

Don't buy them on eBay (or Stubhub, or any of those sites). Trust me - if you don't get them in the sale just take a deep breath, keep up with your planning & preparing, and buy your tickets in July or August (once the actual physical tickets are released). If you absolutely must have them sooner, there is a STEP program (Secure Ticket Exchange Program) that's run through Burning Man - so you don't get screwed with counterfeit tickets like people do every year - and tickets sell for face value, as they become available. There is also a "Last Chance" sale in August of 1,000 tickets.
Last year people freaked if they didn't get a ticket, the old timers kept reminding them that tickets would become available as the event got closer (people have unexpected changes in plans), but they were still selling for $1000 a ticket. By August there was such a glut of tickets being sold that they were going for under face value.
More info on the ticket sales & STEP program here.

Junglesmacks, when your thread was pulled you were sent a message with both an explanation of the issues with your thread and why the other thread has been granted an exception. I also offered to try and get an exception for you if the outstanding issues could be resolved (an offer that still stands). This Overview Of The ePlaya article has more information on advertising and commerce.

Ebay is a poor location to buy BM tickets from... There was one sale that offered a ticket for $10,000.00 - Ok, it did offer a "Plug & Play" solution, with art car and costumes provided, a chef, and your own RV, but I suspect that kinda removes the "Self Reliance" aspect. $800 seemed to be the average price for a ticket. Buying from a scalper is not a good plan (the scalped ticket might have been canceled by Burning Man, LLC... and that would suck!!)
I have never been to a burn that didn't have a bunch of tickets come available before the burn. Even last year, after the so-called "Ticket Fiasco" there were tickets available just before the burn at face price and lower. Even in my small BM region up here in Saskatchewan, there were tickets available...
Plan to go, stash some cash for a ticket! You will be able to find a ticket at face price with a bit of effort.. Check with your local Burning Man regional group!

I think you can sell ice and coffee only. If somebody agrees to buy a bag of ice, you can deliver it to their place of residence and make the cash sale at that time. Same with the coffee. I haven't seen anybody actually solicit for such a sale.

Zeke, I think they are talking about on E-playa not at BM
The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

I think he's making a very tongue in cheek joke...
Of course, you could be too, and then I'll like an idiot.

I originally created the post because so many people did not read the TOS or guidelines when they signed up to post something for sale. Having such a post in the Share Resources was, and is, useful.
The mod team is much expanded, so posts are subject to a more stringent look than what I might have done in the past.

Actually if you put your ticket under ultraviolet light and use a magnifying glass during a blue moon you will see it says "Holder of this ticket is allowed to sell their soul on Eplaya".
