Used my lunch hour to do some rummaging. Found tisha a whole bunch of lights--what's a burner anything w/out blinkies? (Cites--just doing you a favor , Stuart) So, fishies, of course, and some jellyfishies and led chaser lights and an old neon sign advertising some obscure beer. Sorry the colors don't match, it was repaired and they lost the formula for the original colors.

And here's the piece de resistance--a chair! Bar stool height, with a nice cushion and back and on the outside all sorts of small toys glued onto it and painted over. Here's a zebra and some plastic watermelon slices and some old earrings. Quite the conversation piece. Since these things can be hell to clean, I sprayed on some sort of dust resistant plastic. Making us depended on the dwindling oil supply, I know, but we may as well get it while the gettings good.

And I haul all this stuff in and it's newd shenanagins in the bar.

Fix me something cold and shocking.

Flaming Chocolate Monkey

3/4 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Creme de Banane
1/2 oz. Kahlua
1/4 oz. Bacardi 151 Proof Rum

Mix with ice. Strain into a shot glass. Float 151 and light.

Hey! I'll take one of those flaming monkeys! We put in an offer on our first ever house last night. Yay for us!

This house has been on the market since Feb. with nary an offer, so we did the big low ball and we'll see what happens. Also heard that the owner had a heart attack last week. Not good. Let it be known that we planned on lowballing before we heard that. I think this house really wants us, in a good way.

It ends up being a lot more complicated than that, but those are real factors in the equation.

btw--does anyone know if there was any discussion anywhere in African American communities about the image of Hally Berry (sp) carrying a bull whip? (Cats are sooooo British Navy.)
