Yeah Dougly it is pretty raw up there right now, but it's Washington it's supposed to be like that, a small price to pay for a place where one can see 100 feet into the water and watch the Orcas chasing salmon. The best part about the late winter early spring is there are no tourist there. Beats the hell out of the grey rock quarry I did the last few winter/springs!
But I am Tired. Ms Prissy finally dropped the a bull calf, he looks fine, maybe bit on the light side (?) don't really know, haven't been around cows much since High school. He is mostly white w/black across a shoulder and opposite hip. She nursed him right away that's good, first milk has all his probiotics, antibiotics and macrobiotics (one would think they'd cancel each other out). She hasn't dropped her placenta yet, guessing she'll instinctively eat it for the blood clotting factor of progesterone to slow/stop uterine bleeding. (see all that stuff I'm learning about hormones

) Bleeech! the nasty, smelly, bloody, miracle of life. James Herriot I'm not Elliot I left the farm precisely for this reason. It's kinda cool but seriously; I'd shoot myself in the spleen if I had to do this every season. or run away and join the Navy. oh wait! I already did do that.
I wanted to post up a few pictures but I have no data cable or blue tooth, or micro sd reader, and of course I have no service for the phone, So it will be a while before I post them. Prolly this weekend when Susan gets back.
Damn tootin Fishist. I'm not going to participate with Lent this year. the 30 days in the pokkie was my act of contrition. not to mention the folks up there on Hippie Island are theosophical vegetarians.
